Samsung April 2022 security update rolling out to carrier-locked Galaxy S20 in the US

Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone users are getting a new software update that installs the April 2022 Android security patch. Well, this update has reached many users in Europe and other markets, while this time the update is released for the carrier-locked models in the United States.

Further, the Samsung Galaxy S20 April 2022 update comes with better system security and stability. At the same time, it helps in preventing your phone bugs and viruses and reducing system lagging to further boost the phone’s performance.

Other than these, the released Samsung’s April 2022 security patch details mention 88 privacy and security-affiliated vulnerabilities and exploit fixes including 27 high and 18 moderate levels of CVEs from Samsung and Google.

These vulnerabilities are related to improper access controls in S Secure, Knox Manage, Samsung DeX Home, StorageManager, StorageManagerService, Samsung Contacts app, One UI Home, and more.

Moving on, the Samsung Galaxy S20 April 2022 update comes with One UI build version G981USQS2FVD1. Whereas, the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra users can identify it via the firmware version G986USQS2FVD1 and G988USQS2FVD1.

Moreover, to check the update manually, navigate Settings >> Software update >> Download and install. The device will check for available updates and if available, click Download now.

After successful download, choose Install now or Schedule install according to your preferences. Once, installed the phone will reboot and start initial apps optimizations.
