Beating Apple, Samsung led Q1 2022 worldwide smartphone market: Counterpoint

Three weeks ago, we entered the 2nd quarter of this year, and we’ve started to get market research analysis by different reputed agencies. In a recent development, analysts at Counterpoint shared the Q1 2022 worldwide smartphone market report, reconfirming the dominance of Samsung.

According to the Counterpoint report, Samsung led the global smartphone market by grabbing the highest 20% market share in Q1 2022. However, it is 2% lesser than the last year’s market performance (22% share) of the Korean tech giant.

On the other hand, Apple succeed to save the 2nd spot with 18% of the total market share, meanwhile, it’s 1% higher than the same duration of last year. Meanwhile, Xiaomi remained the third-largest smartphone vendor with 12% of the market share.

On the fourth and fifth rank, Counterpoint placed Oppo and Vivo with 10% and 9% of the global market share, respectively. It’s worth mentioning that Samsung lost its top position to Apple in Q4, 2021 due to iPhone 13 series launch.
