April 2022: Does your Samsung phone have latest security patch firmware?

Later last month, Samsung started to provide the April 2022 security patch to the Galaxy S22 series devices via firmware update. Just a few days later, the company shared the details of this latest Android + One UI security patch update, bringing fixes to CVEs and SVEs of different categories.

All Samsung devices launched in or after 2019 are eligible for four years of regular security patches (monthly, security, and biannually). Moving ahead, the Korean tech giant has announced to deliver five years of regular security updates to all flagships and select mid-rangers launched in/after 2021.

The latest Samsung security patch firmware update comes with dozens of bug fixes related to the privacy and reliability of the system. According to the info, the April 2022 patch fixes 27 high, and 18 moderate levels of exploits, while 6 vulnerabilities were already fixed and 4 aren’t applicable on Galaxies.

Samsung is currently busy distributing the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update to the remaining eligible Galaxy devices.
