Intel’s revenue declined by 0.3%, with 12.2% of the market share compared to 12.3% of Samsung. Samsung stood first, Intel is second,  and SK Hynix is in third place with 6.1 percent of the market share.

Micron Technology is here in fourth place with 4.8 percent of the market share, and the fifth place is occupied by Qualcomm with 4.6%. MediaTek is striving for the seventh position with 3% of the market share, along with Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, and AMD in the 8th, 9th, and 10th positions, with 2.9%, 2.8%, and 2.7% of the market share. These are completely mind-boggling and shocking results.

The event behind the current chip shortage continues to impact the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world, though the 5G  smartphone has stilled ramped up. This is because of strong demand and logistic or raw material price, increases drove the semiconductor average selling price.

Raising demands in the Automotive and Wireless Communication segment

The year 2021 saw strong growth in the automotive and industrial markets as compared to other sectors and the previous year 2020. The automotive market has outperformed by 34.9% in 2021.

The sector of wireless communication is dominated by smartphones and smartphone chips saw a growth of 24.6%. The overall production of 5G smartphones has reached 556 million in 2021, as compared to 251 million in the year 2020.

This is due to the upgraded connectivity infrastructure and companies enforcing, creating, and enterprising to improve the digital design in this sector. You are going to see neck to neck competition between Samsung Electronics and Intel in the upcoming quarters.
