Last year we have heard the news that Samsung topped the global smartphone market in the third quarter last year by a 21.2 percent share, and it’s interesting to know that Samsung is followed by Apple (15.9 percent), Oppo (15.7 percent), Xiaomi (13.7 percent), and Vivo (10.5 percent).

Samsung said its sales growth is driven by the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy Fold 3, and Galaxy A series, which gained huge popularity in North America and Europe. Samsung has huge popularity in the North American smartphone market.

One of the most interesting things is that Samsungs market share was 37 percent, which is just double that of Apple’s 14 percent, and this is quite strange for a US-based company.

Samsung has topped another survey done by a market research firm Canalys with 23 percent of the market share, Apple came second with 15 percent followed by Vivo, Oppo, and Realme, with 10, and 5 percent.

The company’s flagship smartphone S22 in Korea surpassed one million sales within less than one and half months. Its predecessor’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Fold 3 gathered its attention with more than one million sales in a month after Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S8.

There is a lot of difference between the Samsung and Apple sales, Samsung with 69.3 million units and Apple with 48 million units, you can clearly see a difference.

Chinese Smartphones Makers Imitating Samsung’s Foldable Phones

Chinese manufacturers are increasingly imitating Samsung Electronics in the foldable smartphone market. At the same time, the former foldable phones are expected to be cheaper and their shares are likely to go up fast in emerging markets in particular.

The manufacturer has tried to improve their technologies too. The new Oppo came with a few middle wrinkles and on the other hand, Huawei was said to have more improved heat handling capability than Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, but practically cannot be seen on the ground.

The foldable phones of Samsung Electronics and Oppo used the same glass supplied by Samsung Display, but wrinkles are not visible on the latter one.

Samsung Electronics has used this design from the beginning and it may not be easy for the Chinese company to imitate the design completely, said the industry insider.

Samsung Still Ahead of Chinese Markers in Foldable Phone Technology

While Chinese companies are releasing foldable phones imitating Samsung’s Galaxy Z series one after another, industry analysts say there is a lot of difference between Samsung models and Chinese products.

YouTube and social media (SNS) channels like Weibo are studded with posts comparing foldable models from Samsung Electronics and China’s Huawei. Compared to these phones many times from the durability point of view P50 Pocket collapsed but the Z flip 3 expressed confidence.

The same is the case with the present Samsung and Chinese series of smartphones. Talking about this Oppo said that it’s ahead of Samsung, stressing that it has lesser wrinkles than Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 but Oppo Find N has fewer wrinkles, despite knowing the fact that it is also based on Samsung’s Display technology.

What does Samsung tend to bring?

The Samsung Galaxy tri-fold smartphone renders have also started appearing online, which are showing that Samsung’s new foldable could feature a tri-fold design. It would be featured with a Rear sub-display, front under-panel camera, and Triple rear camera. In-display fingerprint sensor, as well as an HDMI connector.

How do we know that?

Samsung Electronics reportedly developing a tri-fold smartphone that folds twice, its patent document on the new form factor was filed with the World Intellectual Property Organization and has been disclosed.

LetsGoDigital, an information technology media outlet based in the Netherlands has previously unveiled a computer-rendered image of the Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold based on the patent document.

Earlier in August, Samsung Display unveiled a prototype of the Galaxy Tri-Fold under the name flex in and out at the Korean Display Exhibition.

Present Samsung phones Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy S22 are rocking the world with their presence. So, you can hope that the z fold technology to be launched soon.
