One UI 4.1 Tip: How to use Speech to text feature on your Samsung phone?
Sometimes we have to explain a lot but we do not like to type it at all and it takes a lot of time as well. In such a situation, we can record our words in Samsung Voice Recorder and then convert them into text and send it with the help of speech to text feature.
Samsung Speech to text feature can be extremely helpful sometimes, especially for those who have problems with speech or sight. It can also be helpful for people who might forget their ideas once they try to write. People also use it as it can capture speech much faster than they can type, so it can save time.

Many of you might be aware of this amazing feature while many might not. For those unaware, we are here with a guide on how to convert Speech to Text on your Samsung smartphone. So if you don’t how to use this feature or are new to Samsung One UI, do check the steps mentioned below.
Samsung One UI 4.1 Speech to Text
With Speech-to-text mode, you can convert up to 10 minutes of speech to text. When recording in a speech to text it is recommended to keep your phone within 8cm of your mouth and speak clearly.
How to use?
- Head into the Voice Recorder app.
- Tap on the Record icon to start recording.
- When starting a Voice Recording you can choose between 3 different recording modes:
- Standard
- Interview
- Speech-to-text
- Once you have stopped the Voice Recording you can change the file name and then tap on Save.
- To locate your Voice Recordings in the My Files app:
- Launch the My Files app
- Under categories select Audio
- Select Voice Recorder
You can also convert save voice recordings to texts, here’s how:
- To convert a recorded Voice Recording, head into your List.
- Tap on the recording you would like to convert.
- Tap on 3 dots.
- Select Convert Speech to text.
- Agree to Terms and Conditions and tap on Next.
- Tap on Convert.
- Your speech will then be converted to text. Once complete tap on the stop icon and save the file.

- Medium: Speed up capture time by doing less optimization
- Minimum: Take pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing pictures after they are taken.
- Optionally, enable or disable the Scene Optimizer.
This feature allows for customization of photo attributes such as sharpness, contrast, and brightness. For example, selecting the minimum level results in more natural-looking images, while the maximum level increases detail and sharpness, which is ideal for zoomed-in shots. Notably, the quality optimization setting of these levels only affects Photo Mode.
If you enable Scene Optimizer, it automatically optimizes the color and contrast of pictures to make dark scenes look brighter, food looks tastier and landscapes look more vivid.

Arrange Widgets on Samsung One UI 6.1 Lock Screen
To customize the lock screen, users just need to follow a few steps:
- Simply touch and hold to your phone’s lock screen.
- Select ‘Widgets’ to view the available options and swipe up to see available widgets such as battery, clock and reminders.
Add
- Now, tap on Widgets, then select the desired widget option. You can repeat this process to continue adding widgets.
- To rearrange widgets, touch and hold the selected widget, then drag it to a new place next to the other widgets.
Remove
- If a user decides to remove a widget, they can do so by tapping the red minus icon. This will delete it from your lock screen.
