According to recent info, Samsung SDI aims to encourage suppliers of materials, components, and equipment for long-term partnerships as well as find new suppliers, many people familiar with the subject.

Earlier, the South Korean battery maker has diverted its supply line for similar parts, but now he says it is choosing to buy every part it needs from one supplier.

However as the electric vehicle battery market is expected to grow rapidly in the next decade, Samsung SDI now wants to increase the quality of spare parts procured from suppliers and create a sustainable ecosystem in the back-end.

The group of about 30 companies out of the 1,000 suppliers who are the company’s official partners will also strengthen the role of the Samsung SDI Partnership Association (SSP).

With long-term partnerships, the company can reduce unit prices while the supplier gains a consistent customer base. In 2020, Samsung SDI has invested 5 billion won inequity in Philnergy, forming a joint venture with cathode maker EcoPro BM.

Last year, it began collecting some essential equipment from specialized suppliers. For electrode devices, it collects them from Hanwa, while for notching devices it uses PNT. For battery assembly devices, Samsung SDI uses only HANA technology and MOT.

Both Hana Technology and MOT co-supplied cab welding equipment, but Samsung SDI is now using MOT exclusively for the kit. Individuals said the company plans to make joint ventures or equity investments in these companies if necessary.

Samsung Galaxy S24 July 2024 update

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. The company is preparing to bring a design overhaul to its next-gen flagships. Meanwhile, the battery and charging aspects of the Ultra model are seemingly unchanged.

According to IceUniverse, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra ‘still’ has a 5000mAh battery and 45W charging support. The input comes from a credible source, who maintains a pretty impressive reputation when it comes to tech leaks.

With the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung re-debuted 45W fast charging to its mobile segment. The Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra also support 45W input. Now the latest input indicates that the charging speed will stay capped at 45W for another year.

Samsung could improve the battery life and charging speed through artificial intelligence. Galaxy AI could have some battery performance-related features to increase efficiency. Intelligent handling of apps and services could also reduce charging duration.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will power the S25 Ultra. The chipset is said to boast Qualcomm’s Oryon central processing unit. It will bring improved performance and power efficiency to the device, ultimately enabling longer usage between charges.

The South Korean tech giant will unveil the Galaxy S25 series early next year. The lineup will comprise three models; Standard, Plus and Ultra. The company is also in talks with MediaTek to use the Dimensity 9400 chip in non-Ultra models.

The S25 Ultra is said to feature a rounded-edge design similar to the Note 7. The company seems to be ultimately ditching the boxy frame design from its flagships. It is aimed at improving the handling of the device and refining accessibility.
