Samsung challenges Apple by launching the Galaxy S22 in Apple World ‘Japan’
Recently, Samsung has targeted the Japanese smartphone market with the ‘Galaxy S22‘. As Apple captures almost half of the Japanese smartphone market, the focus is on whether the company can overcome Apple’s hurdle and achieve box office success.
According to industry recent info, Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy S22 series in Japan on the 11th and 21st. Earlier to its launch, Samsung hosted a new product event and Galaxy Mobile Japan unveiled the Galaxy S22 series on the 7th via YouTube.
In the Japanese market, the Galaxy S22 Plus model has been dropped. There are only two models, the Galaxy S22 basic model, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Also, instead of the ‘Samsung’ logo in English, the product has ‘Galaxy’ engraved on the back.
Also, the entry-level model Galaxy M23 and tablet Galaxy S8 Plus will be introduced in the Japanese market. This is Samsung’s first release of the Galaxy M series in Japan and is being read as a strategy to integrate its penetration into the medium to the low-end smartphone market.
In the Japanese smartphone market, Apple has a large share, so other manufacturers can not easily expand their sales, hence it is sometimes called ‘Apple World’.
According to market research firm MM Research, Apple continued to lead the Japanese smartphone market with a 45% market share in the first half of last year. It is followed by Sony (10.7%), Sharp (10.4%), Samsung (10.1%), and Oppo (6.2%).
As the industry expects the iPhone market share to grow further this year, there are also observations that the Samsung market share may fall to the single-digit level again.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G smartphone has started receiving the latest October 2024 security update, which installs the fresh Android patch to boost security and stability. The update arrives with a One UI build version A546BXXSACXI3.
October 2024 security update is rolling out with some important fixes from Google and Samsung. Google has patched 2 critical and 28 high-level issues, 1 was already resolved and 2 don’t apply to Galaxy devices.

It scored 978 in single-core and 3044 in multi-core scores. Notably, the next One UI 7 update will be debuted with the Galaxy S25 series while the beta program will open for developers at the end of this year.

Samsung is reportedly planning a regular personnel reshuffle in November this year. This time, major changes could be seen in the senior executive ranks. A layoff is also in the pipeline, aimed at cutting jobs in the marketing division.
Lee Jae-yong will mark his second anniversary as the head of Samsung on October 27. Market attention is now on how he will respond to the existing concerns and set a new course for the tech giant to ensure sustainable growth.
Samsung’s Lee could instruct the reduction of executives within the DS Division. In addition, several president-level technology officials overseeing the memory and foundry businesses could also be replaced with new talents to ensure growth.

After updating to One UI 6.1.1, many Samsung users were facing issues with the Gallery album feature. When users tried to open specific photos in the Gallery app, the album would disappear and their photos would not be visible. Instead of the photos appearing, the album itself disappeared
