Samsung One UI 4.1 Always on Display: How to customize clock style

Always On Display is an aged yet amazing feature for your smartphone. Samsung AOD has seen many tweaks over the years while the main motive of providing users time, date, notifications, missed calls, battery level, and other information without turning the screen on hasn’t changed.

With the Samsung One UI 4.1, you can do even more with your phone’s Always On Display. The company provides a variety of clock designs so you don’t always have to settle for a single clock style every time.

How to enable?

By default, Always On Display only appears when you tap the screen. Follow these steps to change the settings to allow the screen to be displayed continuously or for a set amount of time.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Go to the Lock screen.
  • Click on Always On Display.
  • Tap the switch at the top of the screen to turn it on.
  • Choose the mode that best suits your needs.

How to customize clocks?

  • Head over to the Settings of your smartphone.
  • Enter the Lock screen option.
  • Tap on Always On Display.
  • Click on Clock style.
  • From here, you can choose your desired clock style.
  • You can also change the clock’s color.
    • Tap Color.
    • Select your desired color.
    • When you are finished, tap Done.

How to download new clocks for AOD?

  • From the Home screen, touch and hold an empty area.
  • Tap Themes.
  • Tap AODs and select an AOD theme you like.
  • Tap Download or tap the price.
  • If needed, choose either Select payment method or Use discounts then enter the required information.
  • Once it’s downloaded, tap Apply.
  • Choose your desired preferences, and then tap Done.
  • Your new design will now display on your phone’s screen when the AOD is active.
