The reason behind this price drop?

Consumers have complained and have filed a class-action lawsuit against the handset makers, that the company is advertising the phone as the most powerful smartphone yet. Users say that performance management software slows the performance of the premium device.

Tear down indicated that the handset lacked a cooling component called the vapor chamber, implying the increased burden on the performance management software to tackle the overheating issues.

What do the Analysts say?

Analysts say lean toward the software solution and limiting the performance of the device, the cost-cutting could be on companies agenda. This strategy has eroded companies’ reputations as innovators based on hardware strength.

Samsung’s reply –

This controversy represents that rivals are trying to blow the company’s reputation. ” The dispute will inevitably be a big hit to Samsung’s credibility,” said Lee Seung-woo at Eugene Investment and Securities.

Lee said Samsung ” is putting too much emphasis on cutting costs, which led to this unfortunate case.”

However, Samsung said it issued an update to allow users to disable the software with no risk to safety. It also said it would continue to invest to innovate in both hardware and software. Above all this Samsung is very near to selling one million units of S22 smartphones.
