How to update Galaxy Watch 4
Before proceeding with the new software update installation, make sure your smartwatch has a good charge, however, you won’t be able to proceed if the battery level is below 30%. All set? Now, check the software update instructions below.
On the paired Android smartphone, open the Galaxy Wearable app. Now, hit the Watch settings, and then tap Watch software update. Once done, swipe to and tap Watch software update, in case your watch displays a Home tab. Finally, click the Download and install button.
Watch 4 Software Update Support
While launching the Galaxy S22 series smartphones, Samsung made a big announcement related to its software department. While the 2021 & 2022 flagship Galaxies are now eligible for four OS and five years of security patches, the Galaxy smartwatches will also have four years of upgrades to One UI Watch and Wear OS.
One UI Watch is a custom wearable platform made by Samsung in collaboration with Google. To do so, Samsung discontinued its own developed Tizen OS, in order to extend the features and capabilities of its wearable lineup. Below, you can see the eligible Galaxy watch for four years of upgrades.

Galaxy Watch 4 Wear OS
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic back in August 2022 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Unlike the older models, this next-gen Samsung smartwatch lineup comes pre-equipped with a One UI Watch 4 software system on top of Google’s Wear OS 3.
The Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatches, with Wear OS 3, takes the user experience to a whole new level. Furthermore, the new watches enable consumers to run even more third-party apps, thanks to the integrated Google Play Store, meanwhile, Google Assistant support is still awaited.

At the Galaxy S22 launch event, Samsung confirmed to bring a major firmware update with new advanced features to the new smartwatches. Shortly after the announcement, the company had started rolling out the feature-packed software to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.

Samsung has pushed a new update for the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone, which installs the latest Android security patch released in December 2024 to improve system security. This update is rolling out in Korea and the company will soon make it available in more countries.
December 2024 update for Samsung Galaxy S24 FE update arrives with One UI build version S721NKSS2AXK5 and an installation package size of around 300MB. The update is rolling out gradually so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.
The fresh update is based on One UI 6.1.1 and Android 14. However, the update is eligible for the next major, One UI 7, update. Currently, Samsung is testing One UI 7 Beta on the Galaxy S24 series and will release a stable update with the next Galaxy S series next year.

In addition, Samsung has patched 2 high-level vulnerabilities in its semiconductor products and provided 8 SVE patches covering the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode to make the device more secure.
Samsung rolls out the December 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition via One UI build version F958NKSS2AXKC. Users will have to download around 400MB package to install the update.
The update is rolling out gradually so it may take some hours or days to reach all models. It is currently available in Korea and the company will soon expand it to more countries.
Users can check new software updates manually with a handful of simple steps. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.
