Samsung One UI 4.1 vs Apple iOS 15: Software

Well! Users have understood very well what we’re going to discuss in this article – Yes, about the two different OS software. This is the most impressionistic part of this comparison as it is the biggest dividing and separating factor between these two phones. The Galaxy S22 Ultra runs on One UI 4.1 [Android12] and iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 15.

It makes no sense to think too much about the differences between Android vs iOS, right? Users who are here should know the basic differences, such as how each OS handles notifications differently or side-loads Android apps, and when iOS can’t – well, iOS can sideload apps, not so easy.

Samsung One UI 4.1 vs Apple iOS 15: Software

Instead, let’s highlight the software features that are unique to both these smartphones. Samsung’s OneUI is better at taking advantage of extra screen space. OneUI, even more than Android, can adapt itself to play nicely with smaller or larger phone screens.

For instance, you can use the packed Homescreen grid so that you can install more apps on the screen. You can rotate the home screen to landscape orientation. You can run two apps simultaneously in split-screen mode or one floating on top of the other.

One UI 4.1 is much better at taking advantage of Home Screen!

When talking about Apple iOS, it is not specifically optimized for larger screens. The iOS 15 runs exactly the same as on the 6.8-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max or the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 Mini. This means that if you switch from Mini to Pro Max, you will not see much information on the home screen, only a larger version of the same information.

Although the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the widest slab phone in the market, the fact that it can only hold four apps horizontally is excessive. With so much wasted dead space between apps, the app icons look insanely large.

Nevertheless, there are a few great things about iOS – Apps look better on iOS than on Android so developers spend more time and effort on iOS – AirDrop works smoothly, but the Android version (close sharing) is still a bit unreliable.

However, there is no denying that the Galaxy S22 Ultra can do a lot more in terms of software. There is Samsung DeX, which can turn the Galaxy S22 Ultra into a full PC desktop-like setup if you connect it to an external display (wired or wireless). And has built-in stylus support for the S Pen. There are more things you can do with the Galaxy S22 Ultra than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

What’s the Conclusion?

As an Android lover, especially as a Galaxy fan, I would prefer to use Galaxy S22 Ultra. Because it’s just better valued and there are attractive Galaxy S22 Ultra deals to make the value proposition even better.

These two phones have better, bigger screens, tremendous processing power, and great cameras, but Samsung flagships go a little further and do a little more everywhere. It can zoom forward, it has stylus support, and a cost-effective stylus built-in, its UI can be changed to a desktop layout for large screen use.

Last but not least, Samsung has announced that it will be expanding its software update policy during the Galaxy S22 series launch event. The new policy ensures four major Android OS and One UI upgrade to the Galaxy S22 series, as well as five years of standard security patches.
