Samsung Galaxy A53 with 64MP AI camera, 4 Android upgrades announced in Canada
Launched a couple of weeks ago, Samsung’s brand new mid-range Galaxy A53 smartphone is slowly crawling market to market. Recently, the device made its availability in India and now the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is launched in Canada.
According to the officials, the Galaxy A53 5G is now available in Awesome Black for purchase online at Samsung.com/ca, Samsung Experience Stores, and with major carrier and retail partner locations across Canada for $589.99.

Samsung Galaxy A53 sports a 6.5-inch 120Hz display, which is a 1080p Super AMOLED panel that reduces blue light with the Eye Comfort Shield. The company claims it can touch a maximum of 800 knots of brightness.
Further, powered with a 5nm Octa-core processor, your Galaxy is built to handle heavy-duty multitasking. While the RAM Plus reads your usage patterns and provides extra virtual RAM for an additional boost.
When considering the camera department, the device equips four sensors at the rear. The camera setup includes a primary 64MP camera, 12MP ultraviolet, 5MP depth sensor, and 5MP macro camera. On the front, the hole-punch cutout features a 32MP selfie camera.
Besides these, the phone features a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging – just like some of Samsung’s recently launched, the charger is not included with the A53. Samsung claims two days of battery life in “normal” use. The phone also has an IP67 water resistance rating and is made of recycled plastic material.
Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy A53 runs an Android 12-based One UI 4.1 software system out of the box. Meanwhile, the device is eligible to get four major Android OS upgrades along with five years of security patches.

Samsung has just tested Exynos 2500 chipset on the Galaxy S25 Plus. Samsung’s unannounced SM-S936B was spotted on Geekbench 6. However, the retail model could be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite globally.
As spotted by Jukanlosreve, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus running Exynos 2500 scored up to 2358 and 8211 points in single-core and multi-core tests. The model number refers to the European variant of the Galaxy S25 Plus smartphone.
In early November, the chipset was spotted on the same handset with similar Geekbench scores. That time, the Exynos 2500 reached 2,359 points and 8,141 points in Geekbench 6’s single-core and multi-core CPU tests.
The current Exynos 2500 benchmark scores are far from its rivals. The Snapdragon 8 Elite manages to reach up to 3127 and 9509, while Dimensity 9400 reaches 2711 and 8632 points in single and multi-core tests, respectively.
It is said that the Exynos 2500 may not power the Galaxy S25 series. The Korean tech giant has reportedly commenced mass production. The next year’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 could be equipped with a 3nm-based Exynos 2500 processor.
Geekbench reveals that the Exynos 2500 features a 10-core CPU, with the prime CPU core clocked at 3.3GHz, two high-performance cores at 2.75GHz, and three at 2.36GHz. The platform has two power-efficient CPU cores, running at 1.8GHz.
Samsung’s in-house chip is speculated to get Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA architecture. It could also be supported by Vulkan 1.3, additional dynamic state, device profiles, dynamic rendering, and improved sync API.
The Foundry division is currently facing yield issues with the 3nm process. Industry observers estimate that the yield rate is extremely low (around 20%). Given the yield concerns, Exynos 2500 is unlikely in the Galaxy S25 series next year.

The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be available in two RAM and three memory options. The device could start at $1299 in the US for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the 1TB variant could reach up to a whopping $1659. Samsung is rumored to release the next-gen Galaxy S phones in late January 2025.
Samsung will begin 2025 with the unveiling of the Galaxy S25 series. In the second half, the company will introduce next-generation foldables. A source suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 may increase with new display upgrades.
Display supply chain insider Ross Young shared crucial display info about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7. Both upcoming foldables could get new display upgrades, with the Z Flip 7 matching the Motorola Razr’s cover display lead next year.
Galaxy Z Flip 7
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 may get a larger cover and inner display than the Z Flip 6. The main screen could measure around 6.85 inches, while the cover panel could be 4 inches.
This year’s Flip smartphone has a 6.7-inch primary display and a 3.4-inch cover screen. The cover panel is not entirely rectangular due to the two camera rings on the back panel.
An increment from 6.7″ to 6.85″ will make a positive impact on the usability. The outer panel will go larger, offering even more space to use the device without unfolding.
Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 could also get an upgraded cover and inner screens. The source revealed that next year’s Z Fold model may have the same display as the Z Fold Special Edition.
The Galaxy Z Fold SE is a pretty major upgrade over the regular Galaxy Z Fold 6. It has a main display of 8 inches, while the outer display measures 6.5 inches.
