According to WABtechInfo, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a yearly reminder for their Terms of Service. When the reminder is available, there will be a green dot in WhatsApp Settings that notifies users that there is something new in the Help section.

However, after its stable release it will appear when:

  • Open WhatsApp Settings
  • Then ‘Help’
  • Here you will see this new ‘Yearly reminder of our Terms of Service’

This will redirect you to a specific page on their website about their terms of service. In the meantime, it will not change WhatsApp’s Terms of Service. It will act as a reminder and will not update the privacy of your messages, which still remains encrypted end-to-end.

In addition, the developing ‘Yearly reminder of our Terms of Service’ feature will only show in India, as required by India’s Information Technology Rules 2021. Although the changes are under development and may release soon for all Android users in India.
