Samsung One UI 4.1 Edge Lighting Styles for Brief Notifications

Samsung announced the expansion of the Galaxy S22-exclusive features to more phones and tablets with One UI 4.1. However, we are continuously finding new features that are not mentioned in the update release notes and OTA changelog.

In the Notifications department, the One UI 4.1 has no changes compared to the One UI 4.0 as there are still two styles available for Notification pop-up i.e. Brief and Detailed. Also, we can select specific apps to Show Notifications in a brief format.

Well, the Samsung Edge Lighting feature is now more stable and intuitive with the One UI 4.1 as we tried it on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. While the number & types of effects remain the same as the One UI 4.0, their overall functionality is now even smoother.

Among 11 different effects, you can pick your favorite edge lighting style for your Samsung smartphone. By default, the colour of edge lighting is set as Blue, while you can change it with the available colour shades or create your favorite one manually.

Moreover, the One UI 4.1 has an option letting you choose the duration of a notification pop-up when one of the available edge lighting effects is not in use. On the other hand, you can adjust the edge lighting effect’s transparency, width in addition to the appearance duration.

Aside from this, the Colour by keyword option allows you to set a specific colour for the keyword. Once done, Galaxy phone’s software system will blink the selected colour while the notification contains an exact match of the keyword filled by the user. Also, you can force this feature for working even when the screen is off/locked.
