Ahead of the launch of One UI 4.1 last month, Samsung officially announced its new software update policy that is four years of major Android OS updates and five years of security patches.

Alike the old Galaxy software update policy the company was first expected to deliver the new treatment only for the flagship devices. Surprisingly, this isn’t the case, Samsung has also announced the major switch for select mid-range devices as well.

Today, alongside the launch of Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A73, Samsung’s new update policy is making its way to users and will be applicable to the select upcoming mid-range Galaxy A-series phones.

It should be noted that this software update policy has only been announced for Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 smartphones at the moment. But Samsung fans are expecting the same treatment for 2021’s Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphone as well as other mid-range phones.
