On March 15, Samsung has officially launched the One UI 4.1 software update for various Galaxy devices. Starting with the next-gen foldables and last year’s Galaxy S21 series, the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update will be released to Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10 and more phones.

Compared to the One UI 4.0, the new One UI iteration doesn’t bring any remarkable changes in the user interface. Meanwhile, the company has showcased a handful of new features that will debut alongside the One UI 4.1 update on various Galaxy devices.

Google Duo Live Sharing

The One UI 4.1 brings a new live sharing feature to the Google Duo app so you can share your screen with friends to view photos in Gallery together. Not that all, but you can even share your browser screen and collaborate on Samsung Notes while you’re on a video.

Expert RAW offers DSLR-like experience

Launched back in late last year, the Expert RAW is a Camera application developed by Samsung for select flagship Galaxies. With the One UI 4.1, Samsung has further enhanced the capabilities of the Expert RAW app, letting users transform images into magazine-worthy masterpieces.

On the other hand, the Expert RAW app lets users save files in both JPG and DNG format, so they can truly edit like a pro. Also, the app offers you complete creative freedom, from brightening or darkening photos with ISO controls to choosing between multiple lenses to capture any subject or scene.

Additional Object Eraser features

Introduced alongside the Galaxy S21 series, the Object Eraser feature had recently expanded to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series devices with Photo Editor app update. However, the One UI 4.1’s Object Eraser introduces additional features namely Shadow Eraser and Reflection Eraser.

With the more enhanced Object eraser, you can now easily remove not only distracting objects in the background but also shadows thrown on the subject or even reflections on the windows. All you can do by simply tap the ‘Erase shadows’ or ‘Erase reflections’ button when you want to remove them from a photo.

  • The ‘Erase shadows’ and ‘Erase reflections’ features are only supported on Galaxy S10 series and the newer devices. Even if both shadows and reflections are detected in a photo, only one eraser effect can be applied.

Enhanced Quick Share

Samsung claims the One UI 4.1 update comes with a more simplified and streamlined photo sharing experience through the Quick Share app.

Simply select an image to share and an icon will alert you if your device detects potential improvements. Click on the icon and watch as the image is automatically adjusted, rotated, or cropped before it’s shared.

As part of the update, users can also enjoy the Quick Share feature, which lets you send multiple photos, videos, and files at once. Just click the “Share” button and select the desired recipients to easily transfer anything.

Grammarly-Powered Keyboard

Grammarly is a popular tool that lets users fix basic grammatical mistakes from their content with real-time error identification and suggestions. With the One UI 4.1, the Grammarly is coming to your phone’s Samsung Keyboard app, and you will now automatically receive expert writing improvements.
