Noble ROM 2.0 brings Android 12 to Galaxy S9 and Note 9, sorry Samsung One UI 4!

Samsung’s Android 12 update comes with many new features and improvements for Galaxy devices, thanks to One UI 4.0. Samsung has released the stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series devices from November 15.

It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 are the old flagship lineup that received the Android 12 upgrade and will receive another major Android upgrade later this year. Meanwhile, the popular Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9/S9+ units are not listed to receive any new major Android updates, Samsung’s new update policy says.

Although Samsung’s 2018 flagships have not officially received the Android 12 update, owners of these devices can now enjoy all the excellence of the One UI 4 in Noble ROM 2.0 form courtesy of XDA developer AlexisXDA.

Note: Make sure that your Galaxy Note 9’s bootloader is unlocked and you have TWRP installed.

The second-generation Noble ROM distribution is compatible with the Exynos 9810-powered Global version of the Galaxy S9 (SM-G960F), Galaxy S9 Plus (SM-G965F), and Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960F). Korean versions (model numbers ending in ‘N’) are also supported, but you will need to download a special build compiled specifically for these models.

Since this is a third-party release, you need to unlock the bootloader of your Galaxy S9/Note 9 to install Noble ROM 2.0. Keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader is enough to trip KNOX and you will permanently lose access to security features such as Samsung Pay and Secure Folder.
