Samsung announced the flagship Galaxy S22 series devices at the February 2022 Galaxy Unpacked event. These devices introduce pro-grade hardware specifications and the best smartphone displays ever made. And, it looks like, Samsung included a new Extra Brightness” feature for these phones, based on One UI version 4.1.

Extra Brightness

As of now, if we operate a Samsung phone running One UI 4.0 on the Adaptive Brightness setting, it adjusts the screen brightness level as per the surrounding light for a better user experience. In Galaxy S22 phones, we can find an extra toggle entitled – Extra Brightness, when the Adaptive Brightness is turned off.

According to the info, when the consumer turns off the Adaptive Brightness function, the One UI 4.1 lists a new toggle that can be used to force display on the maximum brightness level. However, using this function will occur heavy battery drain, as per the on-screen prompt.

At the moment, it’s not possible to speculate about the confirmed arrival of this Extra Brightness feature on other Samsung devices with the One UI 4.1. The reason behind un-confirmation is that it may be a feature based on hardware specifications of the new Galaxy S22 series phones.

Galaxy S22 Ultra – Display

The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s immersive 6.8-inch, Dynamic AMOLED 2X adaptive 120Hz display brings everything to life in stunning detail on Samsung’s brightest display ever, with a peak brightness of 1,750 nits.

One UI 4.1

Along with the Galaxy S22 series smartphones, Samsung introduced the new One UI 4.1 software, based on Android 12. The new version of One UI will be rolled out to several Android 12 supported Galaxy devices in near future, however, the last year’s flagship phones will get it very soon.
