Samsung DeX empowered VMware Horizon to use Dual Mode feature on flagship Galaxy devices

Recently, Samsung and VMware announced the Samsung DeX’s Dual Mode feature to provide extended display capabilities for mobile and hybrid workers for Galaxy flagship tablets and smartphones, including the Galaxy Tab S8 series and S22 series.

The jointly developed feature, Samsung DeX, enables Galaxy Tab S8 series, Galaxy S22 series and other flagship Galaxy Tablets or smartphones with VMware Horizon-enabled displays that allow the VMware-virtualized Windows PC environment to display on a connected monitor, using DeX APIs to provide full mouse and keyboard compatibility, enables content movement on the screen.

Integrated into the latest version of VMware’s Horizon Client application, Horizon on Samsung DeX supports multiple use cases. Horizon Client uses Samsung’s DeX Dual Mode and input API to combine different interfaces and input technologies into a unified experience.

The Horizon on the Samsung DeX is supported by Samsung’s Knox Enterprise-grade security and VMware’s Workspace One virtualization technologies, which provide the perfect combination of simplified deployment for businesses with control over both apps and data.

For end-users, using Horizon on the Samsung DeX is as easy as connecting a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet with a USB-C monitor, loading VMware’s Horizon client, and using their existing Horizon credentials.

Users can choose from wired or Bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse devices to suit their specific usage situations.

Horizon’s newest extended display feature using Samsung DeX’s dual display is now available on VMware’s Horizon Client and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store here: VMware Horizon Client – Apps on Google Play.

With the new update, users can expect a more seamless sharing process and error-free service. However, it does not bring any new features or changes but improves the app’s overall performance.

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones are getting an April 2024 security update in Korea, following the release in the US, India, Canada, and Europe. The update improves system security and stability to provide a better Galaxy experience.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series can identify the April 2024 security update in Korea through One UI build version S91xNKSS2CXD5 and an installation package size of around 366.43MB.

The latest patch fixes over 40 issues to make the smartphone more secure, stable, and reliable. It mainly resolves problems related to Storage Manager Service, Out of bounds write, and more.

You can check the update by navigating to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.
