Telegram 8.5 update brings video stickers, enhances message reactions and more

Telegram is one of the most energetically developed messaging apps. The company is constantly releasing new updates, bringing in innovative features, implementing new APIs and more.
The latest version (8.5) of the app is now available for iOS and Android users. This telegram update introduces video stickers, improves message responses, fixes bugs and more.
What’s new in Telegram 8.5 Update
- Video stickers
- Better Reactions
- New Reactions and Interactive Emoji
- Navigating Recent Chats
- Bug Busting and More
Video stickers
For a long time, the telegram required the necessary experience and professional software such as Adobe Illustrator to create animated stickers. Version 8.5 of the app now allows users to easily import videos as stickers from other apps. The company has a manual for those unfamiliar with the process.
Better Reactions
Telegram introduced iMessage-like reactions in a previous update. In version 8.5, the company made its animations more compact. Users who want to respond to the big impact of the previous version can do so by tapping the feedback in the menu.
Additionally, response animations are now synced to both ends of the chat – recipients will see the same animations at the same time. Finally, a badge appears inside and outside the chat when someone responds to one of your messages.
New Reactions and Interactive Emoji
Version 8.5 not only improves reactions but also adds five new emojis. These new emojis are also interactive when sent privately in private chat. If you are unaware of the interactive emoji, this feature sends them in large, animated versions that emphasize their respective vibes.
Bug Busting and More
- When navigating through chats, you can now hold down the back button to quickly go to the previous chat.
- Call quality improved.
- Now you can send silent messages directly through the share menu and more.
The update is now available for iOS and Android users on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, respectively.

YouTube kills the affordable ‘Premium Lite’ subscription

YouTube is ending its cheaper “Premium Lite” plan that offered ad-free viewing for €6.99 per month. The plan was only available in some European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden since mid-2021. This plan will be discontinued after 25 October 2023.
The “Premium Lite” plan did not include YouTube Music, offline downloads, or background playback, unlike the regular YouTube Premium plan. YouTube says the company is working on different versions of Premium Lite based on user feedback.
YouTube Premium recently increased its prices for individual plans to $13.99/month while family plans cost $22.99/month. YouTube has also been trying to block ad blockers on its platform.
Many users want a more affordable option to watch YouTube videos without ads. YouTube Premium Lite seemed to be a good solution, but it was not widely available. It is unclear if YouTube will launch a similar plan in the future.
