Google Assistant Stop phrase

In 2019, Google presented the ability to dismiss an alarm by simply saying the word ‘stop’. In September 2021, we reported that Quick Phrases would allow users to perform multiple tasks without saying “Hey Google.”

Earlier, the Quick phrases feature was released for the Pixel 6 smartphones and now it is available for Google Home devices. Google has officially rolled out the Google Assistant‘s stop-only command feature for smart displays and speakers.

Now, if you want to stop the music, you won’t need to say the hotword “Hey Google” first. Instead, you can simply say “Stop” and the Assistant will immediately pick it up and stop the music.

Quick Phrase feature is useful for long weather readings or when Google decides to add “did you know” to the end of the answer. This new feature works with or without persistent conversations enabled. If it’s on, you’ll see the usual upper left indicator.

Back in April, a  mysterious “voice shortcut” page for some users appeared on the Google Assistant settings page. This page redirects users to Google’s internal code with a feature named guacamole. A few months later in June, it is learned that the feature would be called “quick phrases”

WhatsApp Channel list UI

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that suggests users some contacts from their address book to chat with. You must be aware of one of the Instagram features, which suggests accounts to follow, and this upcoming feature of WhatsApp might also work similar way.

The only difference here is that Instagram suggests accounts that you have not followed yet, but it usually remains connected with your mutual friends. While the under-testing feature of WhatsApp only suggests contacts that are in your address book.

As per the details, WhatsApp will add a new section to the chat index, and that option will list suggested new contacts from the address book to start a chat with and optimize their experience. Notably, the option will be added to the bottom of the chats list, providing users with easy access.

Furthermore, the contacts that WhatsApp will suggest might include contacts with whom users have never interacted before. These suggestions will also be presented to new users upon their initial registration, enhancing the process of establishing connections for the first time.

This addition will enhance the communication process and user convenience. It also encourages users to initiate conversations more frequently, increasing engagement with new contacts. However, users will also be able to dismiss this section in case they don’t prefer receiving suggestions.

However, this feature to suggest contacts is currently in development and will be available for users in the future. Are you excited for this new addition, or are happy with the limited contacts to chat with? Let us know your thoughts through our social media platforms.
