Google expands Fast Pair to more devices to automatically switch headphones

Published

Google Fast Pair

Google has announced several Android updates that are aimed to bring more convenience to users and to offer the best of its creations. One of the most noticeable changes that Google is working on is the expansion of Fast Pair to TVs, Chromebooks, and smart home devices.

Not only this, but Google has announced that headphones will also be able to automatically switch the studio from an Android device to a tablet seamlessly. Adding to this, the company has also informed about an accelerated Chromebook setup with Android phones. At the same time, Wear OS-based smartwatches will now be able to unlock Chromebooks and Android devices.

Google Fast Pair

Moving on, since November 2017, Fast Pair is a known feature for Android devices. It let users quickly connect Bluetooth headphones with their smartphones. The main aim of this functionality is to take on Apple’s quick pairing technology and to have people connect their Android phones with Bluetooth accessories over 100 million times.

Google plans to expand Fast Pair to new devices by partnering with various manufacturers and bringing new experiences. Not sure how Google will coordinate its multiple vendors, as Samsung has its own ecosystem of devices and headphones, and several other manufacturers are in a similar position.

The new technology is said to unveil in the next few months. This means Google will officially be able to implement functions similar to automatic switching of Apple headphones and similar spatial audio this year.
