Bill Gates loves to use Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 as his daily driver
Recently, in the reply to one of the questions on Reddit in an AMA thread, Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates confirmed that he is using an Android smartphone that is Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Instead of Microsoft’s Surface Duo, he uses Galaxy Z Fold 3 as his daily driver.
Previously, Bill Gates told that he uses an Android smartphone with a big screen but now has confirmed that that smartphone is not other than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. He also stated that he had tried different foldable smartphones but the screen offered by this Samsung smartphone makes his work easier.
He replied, “I have an Android Galaxy Z Fold 3. I try different ones. With this screen I can get by with a great portable PC and the phone and nothing else.”
It is also likely that Bill Gates uses a Samsung phone simply because Samsung’s close partnership with Microsoft allows the company’s various devices to integrate very well with Windows. However, in the previous year, he also pointed out that some Android manufacturers have Microsoft software pre-installed and that Android is more flexible than iOS.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is one of the best foldable smartphones to date, it’s truly a remarkable feat of innovation. To make the Galaxy Z Fold 3 more flexible than the previous model, Samsung engineers have hardened almost every aspect of the device, including the frame, hinge, and screen.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Mobile Platform: Official
Today, Qualcomm also announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform alongside the premium Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Regarding its availability, it is said that the first-generation Snapdragon 7 will be commercially available in the second quarter of this year.
The Snapdragon 7 is the first 7-series platform to support the seventh-generation Qualcomm AI engine. Face recognition detection accuracy has been improved by 25%, and it supports 360-degree face detection. Moreover, the Snapdragon 7 is also the first 7-series platform to support 200MP camera support.
Manufactured on a 14-bit triple ISP, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip supports single-frame progressive HDR features, and has significantly improved image quality. In addition, this chipset uses the same Qualcomm trust management engine as the Snapdragon 8 for the first time and has passed the Android Ready SE certification.
If we talk about overall and gaming performance, the GPU graphics rendering speed of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is 20% higher than that of the Snapdragon 778G. It supports the Qualcomm Adreno image motion engine, taking into account power consumption and frame rate.
Besides, the new SoC supports GPUs such as Game Quick Touch and variable resolution rendering, also, the game touch response speed increased by more than 20%.
Moreover, this chip supports Snapdragon Sound listening technology, which can achieve anti-whistling and real-time audio environment/scene dynamic volume adjustment in games.
Last but not least, the Snapdragon 7 is the first 7-series platform that integrates the Snapdragon X62 5G modem and RF system conforming to the Release16 standard, with a maximum downlink rate of 4.4Gbps.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform: Official
On May 20, Qualcomm officially launched the brand new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that will debut with upcoming flagship smartphones. Aside from the new SoC, the company has also announced the news about related mobile devices, while, we’re here talking about the newly launched Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
When it comes to performance, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor has a super-core Cortex-X2, large-core A710, and the small-core A510. Compared to the standard variant, the overall performance of the CPU is increased by about 10%.
Moreover, the maximum frequency of the CPU is increased to 3.2GHz, and the GPU is increased by about 10%. Besides, the GPU power consumption of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is up to 30% lower than the 8 Gen 1, while the CPU and overall power consumptions are reduced by about 30% and 15%, respectively.
Adding to this, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 supports the seventh-generation Qualcomm AI engine, which improves energy efficiency by 20%. In terms of game performance, it supports HDR games, variable resolution rendering advanced version (VRS Pro), stereo rendering, and physical rendering features.
The most important aspect is battery life. For example, if the battery capacity is less than 4000mAh, the game time of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is increased by nearly an hour, the video playback time by over 80 minutes, and the music playback time by nearly 17 hours.
Aside from this, the new chipset also comes with Qualcomm aptX Lossless audio technology, 5G downlink rate up to 10Gbps, up to 200MP camera sensor support, as well as Android Ready SE certification, while supporting 8K HDR video and 64MP photos.
