The new Samsung TV remote recharges with solar power

Samsung is unveiling a new TV remote control that can use radio waves from your router to power up and stay charged with solar power. The company has also attached an FR harvesting feature that collects radio waves from the router which will be further converted into energy and prevent them from being shared remotely.

Previously the company launched an environment-friendly Eco remote for its 2021 TVs, and now the new innovation gadget spots Samsung in the next level as they work to put the environment as their priority.

However, not seen this on many gadgets. Because it is most practical only for low-power devices and the remote definitely falls into that category. As low power devices can easily consume or charge with solar energy with less time taken.

In addition, users can charge it via solar energy along with USB-C post for the fastest result, Samsung states ‘it will release white remote controls to better complement lifestyle TVs including the Frame, Serif, and Sero.

The new solar remote aimed to discard the AAA batteries, It is assumed that switching to a solar remote could avoid wasting 99 million batteries over seven years.

Samsung explored other ways to self-charge the built-in battery, such as utilizing the kinetic energy generated when the remote control is shaken’ and ‘using the vibration energy generated when the microphone hears a sound.
