Indicators for end-to-end encryption

Over the past few years, WhatsApp has added numerous features that help WhatsApp users to its end-to-end encryption messaging app for a better user experience. Now, it looks like the Facebook-owned messaging client is working on another feature to add measures to remind users that they have end-to-end encryption.

According to WABetaInfo, that WhatsApp working on another new feature to indicate users about end-to-end encryption. Particularly, it looks at the footer below in the Status, Calls and Chats sections stating that everything in the app is end-to-end encrypted.

Everything you send and receive on WhatsApp is encrypted at the sender’s end and encrypted at the recipient’s end, including text messages, photos, videos, statuses, calls, video calls and recent backups. If a third party interrupts the message for any reason, they will not be able to read it.

These changes are not yet available, not even in the beta version of the app and for now, they only appear on iOS, though they should go to Android. WhatsApp has the potential to push its encryption capabilities into public view for a number of reasons.

Most importantly, the company does not really have good importance for security and privacy, and it does have WhatsApp – it’s definitely an attempt to become more aggressive through changes in the Terms of Service.
