WhatsApp will soon allow group admins to delete messages sent by other group members
Over the past few years, WhatsApp has added numerous features that help WhatsApp group admins to moderate their groups in a better way. Now, it looks like the Facebook-owned messaging client is working on another feature that many group admins have on their wishlist.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp can give group admins the power to delete messages sent by other group members. To understand why this is such a big deal, it is important to know WhatsApp’s current limitations regarding group messaging.
WhatsApp currently only gives the ability to delete their messages to the original sender of the message. WhatsApp will not allow you to delete these messages after the specified time has elapsed since they were sent – even the original sender.
After this, the only option left for the sender is to select the “Delete for me” option. However, it only deletes the message from their phone when it is visible to the rest of the group. The addition of this feature along with existing content moderation tools is likely to help WhatsApp leave its tag as the hub for fake news.
Unverified WhatsApp forwardss have led to numerous terrible events around the world especially in India and untested rumors have led to numerous murders and mob judge cases. The fact that this feature has the potential to save lives is a good reason to make this feature available as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, as the feature has not yet reached one of the beta releases of WhatsApp, we will have to wait a while before the ability to delete WhatsApp group messages finally comes in a stable version of the app.

WhatsApp bringing new feature to easily transfer community ownership
WhatsApp is rolling out a new update for Android users, which brings the long-awaited transfer ownership feature to the community. This feature allows community owners to easily transfer their leadership role to another member.
Previously, if a WhatsApp community owner wanted to transfer ownership, they had to create a new community and ask everyone to join it. This was a long process and could lead to losing members and causing confusion.
Now, the new transfer ownership feature of WhatsApp resolves this issue by making it simple to pass on the leadership without any major disruptions and following a too-long process.
This feature appears in the community settings and makes it simple for current owners to transfer their leadership duties. Once the transfer is complete, the original owner will still be an admin but will lose the top decision-making capabilities.
They can continue to help manage and moderate the community, but won’t be able to make major changes like disabling the community or removing other admins.
The Transfer community ownership feature is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta version 2.24.19.34 from the Google Play Store. The company plans to roll it out to more users over the next few weeks.
WhatsApp Beta introduces public figure voices for Meta AI
WhatsApp has released a new update for its Android app with version 2.24.19.32, which brings a new feature for Meta AI voice. Available via the Google Play Beta Program, the fresh update adds a new feature that allows users to customize the Meta AI voice.
Earlier, WhatsApp was testing customizable voices for Meta AI. The latest beta version expands this feature, offering users the choice of several different voices for Meta AI. These include three UK voices and two US voices, each varying in pitch and tone to suit different preferences.
In addition, users will be able to choose from four voices modeled after public figures, although their identities have not yet been disclosed. WhatsApp users can select a voice that matches their preferred accent or tone and is pleasant to hear.
The new customization option for WhatsApp aims to make interactions with the Meta AI chatbot more personalized and engaging. Currently, this feature is only available with version 2.24.19.32 for Android in English, but WhatsApp plans to include voices in other languages in future updates.
As this feature is still in development, it will be enhanced before its official release. WhatsApp is working to ensure that it meets user needs and expectations.
WhatsApp Beta lets you create call links directly in group chats
WhatsApp is updating its app for Android devices with a useful feature for group calls with a new update. The latest version arrives with version 2.24.19.14 and is available through the Google Play Beta Program.
With the latest update, WhatsApp brings a new ability to create call links directly within group chats. Before, you had to go to the calls tab to generate a link for voice or video calls. Now, the latest update lets you make a call link from the chat itself.
Through this update, you don’t need to ring everyone in the group to start a call. Instead, you can share a link in the group chat to join the call. The new feature makes it easier to start and join calls in group chats.
Once you create the link, you can easily send it to the group, and members can join the call by clicking the link whenever they want. It’s particularly useful for big groups or people in different time zones who may not be available at the same time.
The call link feature of group chats is currently available through the WhatsApp beta update. The company will soon make it available for all users in upcoming stable updates.
