Unfortunately, the Joker malware has re-emerged. It has appeared in the app with over 500,000 downloads. The questionable app is called “Color Messages” and was available through the Google Play Store before it was removed.

Sad to say, it was downloaded over 500,000 times before being removed, and some people became infected in the process. According to the Pradeo Security report, this app is adding emoji to your text messages.

As per the report, that the app will connect to Russian servers. As always, just because it’s removed from the Play Store does not mean it has been removed from your phone. If you have it installed, you will need to do it manually.

This app can access your contact list and subscribe you to the unwanted premium paid services. The Joker belongs to a family of malware known as “bread”, which mimics clicks and intercepts SMS messages. This makes the Joker extremely dangerous and even harder to spot.

Joker Malware Spotted Again!
