Samsung, Viettel to start commercial trials of 5G in Da Nang, Vietnam

On December 13, Samsung Electronics and Viettel announced the launch of 5G commercial trials by companies in Da Nang, the largest city in the Central Vietnam region. In the trial, Viettel is using Samsung’s advanced 5G solutions to power its commercial network and enable customers in Da Nang to enjoy the full benefits of 5G services.

The companies attest to the high-performance and advanced capabilities made possible by Samsung’s 4G and 5G network solutions. With the main goal of building a digital society, Viettel has built 4G telecommunications infrastructure that covers 97% of the Vietnamese population.

Samsung is also a leader in providing the first 5G service in Vietnam. Currently, Vietnam has 5G Vietnam coverage in 11 provinces/cities (including Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria–Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Thua Thien–Hue and Da Nang). -Hue and Da Nong).

People in these areas can enjoy 5G for free with unlimited capabilities on multiple 5G supported devices. The 5G Viettel network in the upper regions has a fixed data download speed of 600-700 Mbps, with the highest speeds exceeding 1Gbps.

For commercial testing in Da Nang, Samsung has introduced its latest 4G and 5G solutions, which include its baseband unit as well as 64T64R Massive MIMO radios and radios in the mid-band spectrum. Samsung’s latest baseband unit supports 4G and 5G technologies and offers outstanding performance with industry-leading capability and output.

Samsung has pioneered the successful delivery of 5G end-to-end solutions including chipsets, radios and core. The company currently offers network solutions to mobile operators that provide connectivity to millions of users worldwide.
