How to improve battery life of your Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphone

Samsung S21 Android 13 update US

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series actually sports amazing excellent battery life. In Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra, it is that found that it was really impressive. Especially for the S21 Ultra as it worked with QHD+ configuration and 120Hz refresh rate. But there are always ways to improve battery life on your smartphone.

In this article, we will give you a few different tips that you can use to improve the battery life of your Galaxy S21 smartphone. And make it last longer, if needed.

Adjust screen resolution & refresh rate

The display will always be the most demanding part of your phone when it comes to battery life. Especially if you have a Galaxy S21 Ultra, which has that 6.8-inch display. So one of the easiest ways to improve battery life is to adjust the screen adjustment and refresh.

Now, Samsung is doing an Adaptive update rate, so it doesn’t always work at 120Hz. But if you are using a Galaxy S21 or S21+, the only option you have is to lower it to 60Hz. Since none of this allows for a lower resolution. It stuck to FHD + at all times.

On Galaxy S21 Ultra, you can choose to release screen adjustment to FHD+ from QHD+. However, if you have not adjusted that setting out of the box, you may still be using FHD+. And in that case, you may want to lower it to 60Hz. These changes can actually make a huge difference.

Switch to dark mode

For many, this is a common concept, but for others, this needs to be said. Switch to dark mode. It is easy on the eyes, and will also save your battery life. This is because all Samsung smartphones use OLED displays. These displays illuminate individual pixels. So when more pixels are dark, the extra pixels are off and not working.

Google actually did some testing on this and found that a black background can use much less energy than a white background. It uses less than 63% of power, which can make a huge difference in the battery life of your smartphone.

Another tip here would be to use a very dark background wallpaper. Even if you rarely see the background image on your home screen. This can make a big difference too.

Check your battery statistics

An excellent way to improve your battery life is to simply check your battery statistics. The reason for this is that you can see which apps are hungry for energy. And which ones have gone wrong.

For example, Google Play Services tends to misbehave every once in a while. And you can force stop the app to help your battery drain. Sometimes other apps like Facebook and Twitter use more power than they should.

Additionally, you can adjust whether some apps are running in the background. Which may also use a very small battery.

Use Wifi instead of 5G

This is a long-term battery life tip, and it still hasn’t changed. But use WiFi instead of 5G. Unfortunately, Samsung does not allow you to turn off 5G, like other smartphones. But if you’re at home – most of us still – be sure to keep WiFi turned on.

This is good for your battery, but it is also good for your own taste. Since your WiFi is probably faster than 4G LTE or 5G in your area. So Twitter, and other apps will instantly upload to WiFi.

Turn on power saver mode

Lastly, if it is very bad, it is a good idea to turn on Turn on power saver mode. That can really extend battery life to your Galaxy S21. You can get to the save mode in the quick, easy settings, and battery settings panel.

Power Saver mode usually slows down the processor, as well as blurs the display. It will also stop certain notifications. So this is not something you can leave all day. But if you are under 20%, it might be a good idea to turn it on and get some extra juice on your phone. At least until you can charge your phone.
