Basics: How to enable Palm swipe screenshot on Samsung phone
Taking screenshots is one of the easiest tasks on any smartphone. While most of the OEMs offer a three-finger down gesture to capture a screenshot, Samsung phones offer two choices to consumers in which the first one is pressing the volume down and side keys simultaneously and the second one is Palm swipe.

Screenshot functionality lets users save an image file of anything present on the phone’s screen such as documents. Just after the user takes a screenshot, the device itself creates an image file in jpeg or png format inside the internal memory, which is accessible by Gallery app as well.
First method
- From any screen, press and release the Side and Volume down keys.
Second method
Using this method, Samsung phone users can take a screenshot by just swiping the Palm on the screen from the right edge of the screen to left. In addition to the method of pressing the Side and Volume down keys, you can try this way to capture screeny! To do so, check out the steps below to enable.
- Simply open Settings
- Tap Advanced features
- Head to Motions and gestures option
- Hit the Palm swipe to capture.
- Tap the toggle to enable this feature
Screenshot Settings
- From Settings, tap Advanced features
- Now, hit the Screenshots and screen recorder option.
- Screenshot toolbar: Show additional options after you take a screenshot.
- Hide status and navigation bars: Do not display the status bar or navigation bars on screenshots.
- Delete shared screenshots: Automatically delete screenshots after they are shared through the screenshot toolbar.
- Screenshot format: Choose if you would like your screenshots to be saved as JPG or PNG files.

- Minimum: Take pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing pictures after they are taken.
- Optionally, enable or disable the Scene Optimizer.
This feature allows for customization of photo attributes such as sharpness, contrast, and brightness. For example, selecting the minimum level results in more natural-looking images, while the maximum level increases detail and sharpness, which is ideal for zoomed-in shots. Notably, the quality optimization setting of these levels only affects Photo Mode.
If you enable Scene Optimizer, it automatically optimizes the color and contrast of pictures to make dark scenes look brighter, food looks tastier and landscapes look more vivid.

Arrange Widgets on Samsung One UI 6.1 Lock Screen
To customize the lock screen, users just need to follow a few steps:
- Simply touch and hold to your phone’s lock screen.
- Select ‘Widgets’ to view the available options and swipe up to see available widgets such as battery, clock and reminders.
Add
- Now, tap on Widgets, then select the desired widget option. You can repeat this process to continue adding widgets.
- To rearrange widgets, touch and hold the selected widget, then drag it to a new place next to the other widgets.
Remove
- If a user decides to remove a widget, they can do so by tapping the red minus icon. This will delete it from your lock screen.
