Last August, Samsung launched its last Note lineup, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. At the Unpacked event, the company announced that all the Galaxy flagships launched with Android 9 or later will get three years of Android upgrade support!

Debuted with Android 10-based One UI 2.5, the Galaxy Note 20 range entered the Android 11/One UI 3 beta trial last October. In December 2020, Samsung released the stable One UI version 3.0 via a software update, followed by One UI 3.1 in February 2021.


Although the Galaxy Note 20 series received its first Android OS upgrade in the form of Android 11, it is officially confirmed to get two more major updates up to Android 13. And Samsung also committed to delivering four years of regular security updates from the date of the device’s initial release.

Running on the One UI version 3.1, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 line is ready to receive the upcoming One UI 3.5 update in near future, ahead of the major Android 12-based One UI 4.0. This month, Google has officially introduced the Android 12 at the annual developers’ conference.

However, the Galaxy Note 20 Android 12 One UI 4.0 update is expected to release later this year, Samsung will also provide several new s/w updates along with new features, security patches, bug fixes, and the incremental One UI version 3.5.

Samsung Android 12: Galaxy A72, A52, A42, A32, A22, A12 and A02 One UI 4.0 Update Info



Google’s Android 12 is now available for select devices, while its official release is scheduled for September this year. At the same time, Samsung is expected to announce the Android 12 Beta for developers in late September, followed by Public Beta this October.

Following its strategy, the Korean tech giant will first run the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 Beta trial for select flagship Galaxy devices, and the stable rollout will begin somewhere in late November or early December this year.

Aside from flagships, Samsung also has a number of mid-range, budget, and entry-level devices that belong to the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series. It’s worth mentioning that select premium Galaxy A phones get three Android upgrades just like the flagships, while others get two.


Starting Galaxy A72 (most premium Galaxy A phone) to the Galaxy A02 (cheapest Galaxy A phone), around a half dozen of Galaxy Ax2 smartphones are eligible for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 upgrade. You can check their list below.

  • Open Samsung Members app
    • If you don’t have Members app, then easily download it through Google Play or Galaxy Store.

  • After tapping on the card, move further and tap on the Register button
