Samsung plans to ship 33.6 million Galaxy Tabs, including new products in 2022

Recently, Korean media TheElec reported that Samsung will increase production of tablets, laptops, and PCs by 6% and 9% next year, respectively. The shipping of smartwatches and wireless earphones will increase by over 35%.

Samsung’s wireless business division recently shared business plans for the coming year with about 30 key partners. The Wireless Business Division discusses next year’s business strategy for each major product and component purchase.

In terms of production, Samsung aims to reach 34 million units for next year’s tablet (Galaxy Tab) shipments, an increase of 6% from this year. This is significantly higher than the 3% growth in exports this year over last year.

As per the report, the model 400,000 to 900,000 and 1.2 million units of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, S8 Plus, and S8 will be produced from the first quarter of next year. The S8 Lite will produce 1.6 million units from the third quarter of next year. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and A8 are expected to produce 11 million units each and the A7 1.2 million units.

Samsung’s wireless division plans to produce 19 million units in the ‘Galaxy Watch’ series, an increase of 36% over this year, and 23 million units in the ‘Galaxy Buds’ series wireless earphones, a growth of 23 million units this year.

Samsung plans to significantly expand the wearable goods market next year by expanding its interoperability with smartphones. Production of the smartwatch ‘Galaxy Watch 5’ and wireless earphone ‘Buds Live 2’ will start from the third quarter of next year and the production of the wireless earphone ‘Buds Pro 2’ will start from the second quarter of next year.

Compared to tablets and wearable devices, we have traditionally set our PC shipment target. This reflects the possibility of slowing down next year’s ‘Work from Home’ special due to COVID-19. Laptop shipments for next year are set at 7.4 million units, an increase of 9% over this year.

Looking at the flagship models, the 2in1 laptop ‘Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360’ and the ultra-slim laptop ‘Galaxy Book 2 Pro’ 5G model will be produced by 300,000 units from the second quarter of next year.
