Previously, Google used to release Andriod distribution data every month. But that tradition ended at the end of 2018, and now, we only get distribution numbers on an annual basis. A year has passed since Google published the Android distribution numbers, but the company has finally released the latest data for 2021.

Here are the Android distribution numbers for 2021 and they will take a closer look at the current status of the various Android versions(via-9to5Google). The data is believed to be three weeks old and depends on the number of Android devices that have been accessing the Google Play Store in the last seven days.

According to a report published by Google on Android Studio, Android 11 R is running on 24.3% of all active Android devices. However, this is not the most popular version of Android, as it loses Android 10, which topped the list with a 26.5% market share.

In December last year, Google revealed that Android 11A had the fastest adoption rate of any version of Android, while at the same time surpassing the Android 10 adoption rate.

Meantime, Android 9, which was released in 2018, was ranked third with an 18.2% share, followed by Android 8.1 Orio (9.7%). There is no mention of Android 12 in the data, which was released only a month ago and it is not surprising considering that it is only available for certain devices.

It is noteworthy that no variant with a distribution of less than 0.1% is shown in this data. So it is possible that there are thousands of Android devices running older versions, but they are not on this list as they make up no more than 0.1% of the total active installations.
