Google Play Store finally getting redesign overhaul on web

Google Play Store Update

Many people use their smartphones or tablets to download Android apps, but the web version has always been an option. While the mobile version of Google Play Store has received many visible updates, the web version has been abandoned in the past. Now, thanks to 9To5Google, we know that the Play Store will finally have a new look.

Google has not made any effort to update the Google Play Store web visual. The current look is classic with sharp edges and a completely dim beauty. All applications are grouped within large rectangles that display their names and their star rating. On the left, we have a panel with more options, and the section is at the top.

Google Play Store web version will include round icons

The new-look brings the Google Play Store site to modern times. It includes the rounded beauty we see in the mobile app, this should not surprise us, as the new look is modeled after the app. You see app icons represented as large circular icons arranged with a grid pattern with multiple spaces between each icon. Everything is cartoonish and bubbly, like the mobile version.

At the bottom of the game’ tab is a web version, instead of small and boxed icons, the games are represented as large rectangular images. PUBG: New State and Final Fantasy are high, and they take up a lot of space. Another App Store is organized by grid pattern below.

An exciting feature of this new look adds splendor to the Google Play Store web version. Some apps, if you prefer, will display a full moving trailer in the background. The trailer will automatically play at the top while you read the app information. You also have the option to enlarge the trailer into full screen.

This new look brings Google Play Store to modern levels, but may not be for everyone. The most common complaint people will have about this is that Android 12: Google’s use of space.

Since everything is bigger, brighter, and given more space, there is very little information that can be seen on the screen. The older version has thicker grids for apps, but the new look has a lot of wasted space. It looks good, but it also affects performance.

This new look is being tested in a limited way, so we do not know when it will arrive in your browser. The screenshots shown were from the Korean version of the store.

WhatsApp Image Search feature

WhatsApp is releasing a new beta update for Android, which reveals that the company is developing a new feature that lets users search images on the web. The fresh beta update can be identified through version 2.24.21.31.

The Search images on the web feature of WhatsApp will allow users to check the authenticity of images they receive to make it easier to spot misleading or fake content.

When a user wants to search for an image, it will be uploaded to Google, which helps them find similar images or sources online to quickly get more information.

Notably, WhatsApp ensures privacy by not storing or processing these images. While the image is sent to Google for searching, it remains private and secure.

With this new feature, users will be able to use any image, whether sent by a friend or received in a forwarded message for search on the web to verify them online.

In addition to the image search, WhatsApp is also developing a feature to check links in frequently forwarded messages to verify their authenticity.

The image search feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update. Users can expect more information soon as WhatsApp continues to enhance its platform. Stay Tuned!

Now, to use the Call Links feature, simply tap the attachment icon while chatting. This makes starting a call faster and more convenient since you can do it right from your ongoing conversation.
