Just recently, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new beta update through the Google Play store. This new update comes with version number 2.21.24.6 and brings a new video call shortcut.

With this new update (via-Wabetainfo), the company is introducing a new shortcut to quickly place a video call while viewing status updates. This is a small addition, just like a shortcut for calling your WhatsApp contacts in the same section.

To be mentioned, those who are still using the 2.21.23 beta update or the latest WhatsApp for Android Web Release can also get the voice call shortcut. While those using the latest stable update of WhatsApp for Android can’t see these shortcuts yet.

Currently, this beta version of WhatsApp for Android is under development. So its appearance, functionality, and anything else may change before it is officially released to beta testers.

Aside from this, WhatsApp has also released a new beta update with version no 2.21.24.5.  This update introduces a new feature to more WhatsApp beta testers, to get notified when unknown business accounts contact you.
