Samsung plans to launch its first OLED TV at CES 2022, using quantum dot tech
Samsung will launch their first OLED TV at CES 2022, the world’s largest IT show to be held in January next year. The company will use Samsung Display’s Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED), not LG Display’s White OLED (WOLED) displays that currently control the OLED TV market, to separate its products from competitors.
Samsung Electronics plans to release their OLED TVs first to Samsung First Look, a TV release event to be held before CES 2022. The introduction of Samsung Electronics for OLED TVs is notable because it is its second bid.
LG Display has been able to produce OLED TV panels in bulk, and the size of the global OLED TV market has grown steadily. There was only one TV manufacturer in the world that released OLED TV models in 2013, but the number has grown to 20 by 2021. The LG Display is probably dominating the huge OLED panel market as it is currently the only major OLED panel maker in the world.
Samsung Electronics has been selling TVs loaded with LCD panels since withdrawing from their OLED TV business. It has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of entering the OLED TV market, led by LG Electronics.
At first glance, Samsung seems to be doing something, but Han Jong-hee, president of Samsung Electronics, said the company will not enter the OLED TV market at the current level of OLED display technology.

Experts say it is too early to determine which is better between the two panels. Samsung Display is yet to release its QD-OLED panels. In particular, in the case of TVs, not only the panels but also the capabilities of the TV producers affect their performance, including image quality.
Analysts say the profit will have the key to winning the TV race between Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. QD-OLED panels will come from Samsung’s Q1 Line Asan Plant, with a monthly production capacity of 30,000 sheets based on 8.5 generation substrates.

First Look at Samsung One UI 7 Home Up App: Explore the dreamy features!
Samsung has just released a fresh update for the Home Up app with version 16.0, which adds support for One UI 7. We have a first look at the new features in the Samsung One UI 7 Home Up app, thanks to tipster Vince Lawrence.
The fresh update is packed with features that are sure to enhance the user experience for Galaxy device owners. Among the most notable additions are new animation settings, a larger folder option, and enhanced pop-up folder functionalities. One UI 7 support delivers some highly requested features that many Galaxy users have been dreaming of.
Features of One UI 7 Samsung Home Up
New Animations Settings:
Home Gestures Animation tuning
One of the most amazing additions in this update is the new animation tuning for home screen gestures. Users can now choose from three different animation styles:
- Pixel by Pixel – Enjoy the feeling of pure animation
- The Scent of a Certain Fruit – Feel the sweet taste of red fruit
- Simple Tuning – Pick between fast animations or more emotional ones.
Beyond these options, there is an option for Advanced tuning Settings that let you adjust specific aspects of the animations.
Advanced Tuning
With this feature, you can customize details like damping, stiffness, and friction for how icons move and scale. Users can also customize where icons track, and there’s an Interpolator option to tweak how the icon scale animations work. This means you can make the animations your own.
In addition to this, the Advanced tuning also includes options for scale, duration, and blur settings for the Home screen and Wallpaper.
Large Folder
Another noteworthy feature is the introduction of the large folder option. You can now choose between medium and large sizes for your app folders while keeping the size of existing large folders the same.
This gives you more control over how your home screen looks and helps you organize your apps better. You can also adjust the folder grid and change the icon sizes, adding to your personalization options.
Pop-Up Folder
The update also enhances the pop-up folder functionality. Users can now customize the size of pop-up folders with options for small, medium, and large. Additional settings allow for variable sizes, fixed positions, and even options to hide the edit bar and remove blur effects.
This next level of customization provides a cleaner, more organized interface while ensuring that users can access their favorite apps quickly.
Overall, the One UI 7 support for Samsung’s Home Up app offers a range of new features that many Galaxy users have been looking for. With fresh animation settings, flexible folder options, and improved pop-up folder features, this update enhances the way you interact with your device.
It’s important to note that these features aren’t available to all Galaxy users yet, but the company soon make them available for eligible devices.

One UI 7 vs One UI 6: What’s changed in Quick Settings panel
At SDC24, Samsung displayed some of the upcoming One UI 7 changes including the new Quick Settings. The company is adopting squircle components across the interface. The new panel is crafted for user convenience while keeping an intuitive design.
The below-displayed Quick Settings could be featured in One UI 7. The changes are almost confirmed, but the final version could differ slightly. Tipster IceUniverse recently revealed the S25 Ultra mockup with One UI 7 interface.
One UI 7 vs One UI 6 – Quick Settings
One UI 7 could bring updated Network and Battery indicator components. The new software could display the battery percentage inside the icon itself. In One UI 6, the percentage comes outside the vertical battery icon.
WiFi and Bluetooth tiles will be featured in the first row of Quick Settings. The refreshed design increased the corner curvature, matching the squircle appearance. One UI 6.1 panel has square tiles with slightly curved corners.
The next layout consists of key settings in a 4×2 arrangement, which can be expanded further. The layout separates itself from the blurred background through solid BG with transparency. The labels of toggles don’t appear, cleaning the look further.
One UI 6’s layout consists of 12 toggles, expandable with pagination. The layout is a fixed format that doesn’t adjust to vacate place for other functions. In the left image, you can see the Music Player widget between two layouts.
One UI 6 added key display settings in a separate layout consisting of Brightness Slider as well as Eye comfort shield and Dark mode switches. Next to this layout, you get two big tiles of Smart View and Device Control.
One UI 7 splitted the display layout into two different layouts. The first features a brightness slider alongside the Eye comfort shield and Dark mode. The latter menu included a volume adjustment bar and toggles to adjust sound settings.
Samsung confirmed One UI 7 Beta will launch by the end of this year. The Public version will debut with the Galaxy S25 series next year. We expect the Stable rollout for Galaxy devices could start in early February.
