Google announced ‘Business Profile’ is the new name of ‘My Business’

Due to supply issues, this year’s holiday shopping season started ahead of schedule. According to the information, Google has now announced its latest tools for local stores, including a renamed “business profile.”It means that “Google My Business” is now renamed “Google Business Profile.”

The dedicated My Business Android and iOS apps will be replaced in 2022 to support Google’s recommendation of “small businesses manage their personal data directly on Search or on the Map.” Small and medium-sized business owners have undoubtedly installed these apps as consumers.

In addition to the name change, it is now easier to declare and verify your personal data through these two applications. Starting this week, eligible people can:

“Search for your business by name and you’ll see an option to claim and verify the associated Business Profile. Once your business is verified, you can edit your business’ information, including the address, store hours, photos and more”

Customer messages also go directly to the search (previously only available on the map) and provide reading receipts for both parties.

At the end of last year, companies have been able to reply to messages directly from the Google Maps mobile apps in the “Updates” tab. This upcoming search option brings functionality to the desktop web after clicking the “Customers” menu.

Furthermore, the call log feature will show “which inbound customer calls came from their Business Profile on Google.” Provide verified profiles in the United States and Canada, it will record the total number of received and missed calls, performance, and history.

Spotify introduces ‘Jam’ feature for collaborative music listening

Spotify has announced a new feature ‘Jam’ that will let users create and control a music playlist together in real-time. This feature will allow up to 32 Spotify users to join a shared music queue and add, remove, or reorder songs as they wish.

To start a “Jam”, a Spotify Premium user can tap the speaker icon on the Now Playing screen and share an invite code with other Spotify users via a QR code or a link. The invite code will grant access to the music queue, where everyone can see what songs are playing and who added them. Free Spotify users can also join a “Jam” and contribute songs, but they cannot start one.

The Jam feature of Spotify is designed to make music listening more social and interactive, especially for situations where multiple people want to have a say in the music selection, such as parties, road trips, or workouts. Spotify says that the feature is rolling out starting today and will be available to all Spotify users soon.
