WhatsApp starts cashback for UPI payments in India
Last year, WhatsApp introduced a new feature that lets users make payments to contacts directly through the app with the help of UPI in India. Although WhatsApp has a big number of users, its payment service has not gained much response, compared to rivals PhonePe and Google Pay.
In order to push its payment services in India, a few weeks ago, WhatsApp announced that it was testing a feature to send cashback after using UPI Payments. Well, WABetaInfo just revealed important information as WhatsApp is finally rolling out the ability to get cashback.
A WhatsApp user in India reportedly received a certain amount of cashback (screenshot below) after sending payments to 5 contacts. However, there’s no genuine info available regarding the timeline of this cashback offer as it may be a limited promotion.

Those who have already received cashback from WhatsApp can check the details about the transaction on the History page within WhatsApp Payments Settings. It’s worth noting that there’s no way to enable the cashback if your WhatsApp account is not included in their promotional campaign.

WhatsApp for Android is releasing a new beta update, which includes a new feature that helps to manage contacts and group chats. This new update is available with version 2.24.21.35 via the Google Play Beta Program.
The fresh update of WhatsApp adds a new shortcut feature that will allow users to quickly add contacts and group chats to personalized lists. This feature can be accessed directly from the chat info screen. It simplifies the process and eliminates the need to navigate through settings.
Additionally, WhatsApp plans to introduce a similar shortcut in the top app bar during active conversations. This top bar shortcut will provide an easy way to organize contacts and groups while chatting. The company aims to enhance the overall user experience.
In an earlier version 2.24.19.25, WhatsApp was working on improving how users organize their contacts and groups. The new shortcut will allow users to quickly add people and groups to lists directly from the chat info screen.

Color themes for chats are an upcoming feature for WhatsApp users. This feature will allow users to change the chat theme to match their style preferences. Selecting a theme will apply it across the entire application, whether for personal or group chats.
The app-wide implementation aims to offer a uniform and consistent look across the entire app. Once enabled, you can also alter the theme for specific chats, similar to how you apply conversation background wallpaper on WhatsApp.

The ability to choose diverse themes will allow WhatsApp users to pick different designs for personal, work-related, and group chats. Users will have over 22 distinct themes and 20 color options to choose from within the app.
Changing the chat theme will also modify the message color to display a visually cohesive appearance. Message color in WhatsApp will be optimized itself to offer a unified look along with the chat themes.
At present, the new WhatsApp personalization tricks are available for select Beta testers. As soon as the development and testing progresses, the availability will expand. We with WhatsApp to soon announce the general availability of the feature.
