One UI 4.0 Tip: How to setup Edge panels on Galaxy devices?
In the recent development, Samsung has announced its most anticipated One UI 4 Beta 3 for Galaxy S21 series smartphone users in South Korea. Along with the One UI 4 beta development, the company is also working hard to provide the latest software update for its several Galaxy smartphones before the time.
In addition to this, the company has also released the November 2021 security patch update before the end of this month. The latest One UI 4 beta 3 brings several new features and improvements for the beta participants.
One UI 4 beta participant will be able to experience comprehensive customization features and privacy controls, enabling them to design an ideal mobile experience – an experience that uniquely suits their personal needs and allows them to express themselves. What are Edge panels?
The Edge panels feature a variety of customizable panels that can be accessed from the edge of the screen. Edge panels can be used to access apps, tasks, and contacts, as well as view news, sports, and other information.
How to use it?
To launch the Edge Panels, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings
- Select Display
- Swipe down, Turn on Edge Panels by swiping the switch from left to right, Edge Panel is now appearing on the screen.
- Swipe leftward to open Edge Panels
- Swipe left or right to select edge panels.
- Tap on the Settings icon to edit or view more Edge Panels
Apps panel
You can add apps in two columns to the Apps panel.
- From any screen, drag the Edge handle to the center of the screen. Swipe until the Apps panel is displayed.
- Tap an app or app pair shortcut to open it. You can also tap All apps for the complete app list.
- To open additional windows in pop-up view, drag the app icon from the Apps
panel to the open screen.
To configure Apps panel:
1. From any screen, drag the Edge handle to the center of the screen. Swipe until
the Apps panel is displayed.
2. Tap the Edit panel to add other apps to the Apps panel.
- To add an app to the Apps panel, find it on the left side of the screen and tap
it to add it to an available space on the right column. - To create a folder shortcut, drag an app from the left side of the screen on
top of an app in the columns on the right. - To change the order of the apps on the panel, drag each app to the desired
location. - To remove an app, tap Remove.
3. Tap Back to save changes.
Configure Edge panels
You can customize the Edge panels.
1. From the Edge screen, tap Settings.
2. The following options are available:
- Checkbox: Enable or disable each panel.
- Edit (if available): Configure individual panels.
- Search: Find panels that are either installed or available to install
- More options:
Reorder: Change the order of the panels by dragging them to the left or right.
Hide on Lock screen: Choose panels to hide on the Lock screen when a secure screen lock is set.
- Galaxy Store: Search for and download more Edge panels from Galaxy
Store.
3. Tap Back to save changes.
Edge panel position and style
You can change the position of the Edge handle.
- From Settings, tap Display > Edge panels > Handle for the following options:
- Edge handle: Drag to change the position of the Edge handle along the
edge of the screen. - Position: Choose either Right or Left to set which side the Edge screen
displays on. - Lock handle position: Enable to prevent the handle position from being
moved when touched and held. - Style: Choose a color for the Edge handle.
- Transparency: Drag the slider to adjust the transparency of the Edge handle.
- Size: Drag the slider to adjust the size of the Edge handle.

2). Install the Samsung Members app
- Samsung Members app is necessary to join the Beta program. If you haven’t installed it yet, do so soon! To do so, you just need to open Galaxy Store >> Search ‘Samsung Members’ >> Open it and tap to Install.
3). Update the Samsung Members app version
- If you already have the Samsung Members app, check for any updates. Keeping it up to date will help you access the Beta Poster and enjoy new features.

Unlock Samsung Internet app’s Secret Mode Now
Samsung Internet app is filled with a Secret Mode browsing feature. Under Samsung Internet, the company created a myriad of features all geared towards helping to keep you and your online experience safe.
Available for all Android phones, Samsung Internet brings user-centric security and privacy features to web browsing, enabling you to freely browse your favorite websites while helping to safeguard your privacy.
Samsung Internet also enables private environments with Secret Mode. This option offers the same browsing experience as you would normally experience on Samsung Internet but with extra privacy and protection.
Secret Mode won’t let cookies and browsing history for any websites you visit be stored on your phone. As soon as you close all the tabs from Secret Mode, cookies and browsing history will be erased, leaving no clue of what happened.
To use this feature, go to Samsung Internet, and from the main screen, tap on the Tab Manager icon on the bottom where you can manage your open pages. Activate Secret Mode by tapping “Turn on Secret mode”.
Privacy Dashboard:
Available within the Quick Access page, the Privacy Dashboard offers a detailed record of weekly activities and settings that can be adjusted to suit your privacy preferences. To find this, go to the browser, tap the three lines icon, and select Privacy.

Here’s how to set up Video Call Effects:
You can easily use the Video Call effects on your Samsung devices, just need to follow a few steps:
- Start a video call using any app that supports video calling. Make sure you’re in the middle of the call before you try to change the effects.
- While you’re on the video call, pull down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Panel. Pull down again to reveal more options.
- In the Quick Panel, find the Video Call Effects button. Tap on this button to open the settings for video call effects.
- You’ll now see several options to customize your video call. You can change the background, adjust your face effects, modify the color tone, or use automatic framing. Select the options that you like to enhance your video call.
Users with Samsung devices running from One UI 3.1 to One UI 6.0 have to select the video call effects icon directly on the call screen. But with One UI 6.1, accessing these features through the Quick Panel is now simpler.
