Samsung W22 5G smartphone set to launch on October 13 in China
Samsung is preparing to launch a new folding smartphone, exclusively in the Chinese market called the Samsung W22 5G. As the name itself suggests, the phone is a successor to the W21 5G launched last year.
Similar to the Samsung W21 5G, which was a redesigned model of the Galaxy Fold2 smartphone, the upcoming Samsung W22 5G is also a unique color option for Samsung Galaxy Fold3 in the Chinese market.
Ahead of its official launch tomorrow, an online poster for the Samsung W22 5G online was posted, revealing the phone’s design. The phone has a black body but the hinge area, as well as the logo on the back panel, is gold in color.

The S Pen stylus provided with the phone also has a Black color with a gold ring at the top to match the design of the phone. This new smartphone will definitely be sold by China Telecom but we expect China Mobile and China Unicom to sell all of this device.
The poster reveals that the phone will be available for pre-orders from October 14 to October 21 when the phone will be purchased from October 22 to November 7. Those who buy the phone at that time will be able to receive a gift that can be redeemed within 15 days of activating the phone.
The smartphone will have a 7.6-inch primary display and a 6.2-inch cover screen. The screens are expected to feature a 120Hz update rate and Gorilla Glass protection. The device is likely to feature various futuristic technologies such as an under-display camera and S Pen input support for the first time in a foldable screen smartphone.
The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is equipped with the latest One UI 3.1.1 on top of Android 11 OS, the phone is expected to be powered by a 4,400mAh battery with 25W for fast charging and wireless charging support.
In October 2024, Samsung updated its Galaxy Enhance-X app, which brings the popular Camera Shift feature to more devices. This feature helps you take and edit full-body photos easily. If you own a compatible Samsung device, you can take advantage of the Camera Shift feature.
Camer Shift Feature
The Camera Shift feature lets you enhance your photos by focusing on specific subjects. It was initially available only on the Galaxy S24 series, but now it’s expanded to other models.
The latest update includes a simpler and user-friendly design. Instead of navigating through three separate menus, you can now access everything from a single menu.
With improved recognition capabilities, the Camera Shift feature can now better identify children, upper body shots, and group photos. You can also apply special effects to specific people in group images, giving you more creative control.
Moreover, the update also includes a Colorization feature that adds color to black and white images and a Motion Clipper feature to allow you to create GIFs from Motion Photos.

How to use One UI 6.1 Camera Shift feature on your Samsung Galaxy
Along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Samsung has officially ended software update support for two more Galaxy devices – the Galaxy M51 phone and Galaxy Tab A7 tablet. This means that these devices will no longer receive any software updates.
Both the Samsung Galaxy M51 and Galaxy Tab A7 were launched in 2020 and came pre-installed with Android 10. They received updates up to Android 12, and are not eligible for more Android updates. Now, these devices have completed their software update cycle.

Still, both devices are secure and functional for everyday use. The devices run Android 12 and support all major apps, including those for banking, so users can continue to perform their daily tasks without issues. If you want to enjoy the new and advanced features of One UI, newer Samsung models are required.
Bye-Bye Monthly Updates: Popular Galaxy A series phone shifts to Quarterly plan
Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is a well-loved smartphone in the Galaxy A series that has now shifted from a monthly to a quarterly update plan. This means that users of this device will now receive software updates every three months instead of every month.
The Korean tech giant has recently announced its revised update schedule for its Galaxy devices, which places the Galaxy A52s 5G in the Quarterly update category.
Launched in 2021, the Galaxy A52s 5G came with Android 11 pre-installed. Since then, it has received three major Android updates and runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.
