Update 1: T-Mobile started releasing another September 2021 security update to the Galaxy S21 series smartphone users in the US. (Source) It brings system security improvements as well as optimizations to the entire software system to the smartphones.

It looks like Samsung has concluded the One UI 3.1.1 features rollout for the eligible flagship devices such as Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Note 20, as they are now receiving a new firmware update, which brings improvements to the system security by installing the latest Android and One UI patches released in September 2021.

According to the news, Samsung has begun expanding its September 2021 security patch to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone users in different regions.

If we specifically talk about the Galaxy S21 series, these devices receiving the new security update in European countries such as Germany. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 20 series is getting the same treatment in Brazil.

It’s worth mentioning that Samsung has not yet released the September 2021 security update bulletin that brings details about the CVEs and SVEs that will be fixed after installing on the Galaxy S21 and Note 20 series. However, the company is expected to publish it in the coming days.

How to check for updates manually

  • Open device Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on Software updates
  • Hit the Download and install button.
