Apple challenges Samsung in South Korea by launching iPhone 13 series

Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max

Samsung currently regulates more than 70% of South Korea’s smartphone market. The company has done very well this year in its home country, especially after the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, it may now face some competition as Apple finally unveiled the iPhone 13 series in Korea.

Recently, Apple unveiled the iPhone series in Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand, and ten other countries around the world. These latest iPhones are expected to gain more popularity in South Korea as pre-orders for devices sold just nine minutes earlier this month.

The South Korean network carriers – LG Uplus, KT, and SK Telecom – are offering the iPhone 13 series. These new smartphones have the same price as their predecessors.

The iPhone 13 Mini is priced at KRW 950,000 (about $795), while the iPhone 13 starts at KRW 1,090,000 (about $915). The iPhone 13 Pro has an initial price of KRW 1,350,000 (approximately $1,130) and the iPhone 13 Pro Max costs KRW 1,490,000 (approximately $1,245).

Although the price is higher than Samsung’s high-end phones, iPhones certainly enjoy good popularity in South Korea due to their simple user interface and good product value.

The US-based product has more than 20% of the market share in the country. Whether Apple can attract current Galaxy smartphone users with the iPhone 13 remains to be seen, with preliminary results coming out next quarter.

PUBG: New State Release Date

“Krafton’s upcoming PUBG series PUBG New State will be released on Android and iOS on November 11.”

PUBG Games has had major problems with fraudsters in the past, with Motherboard reporting earlier this year that one cheating party allegedly made more than $70 million by selling PUBG Mobile. PUBG is far from the game that has had these problems. Other companies such as Activision and Valve have made headlines recently in their efforts to prevent cheating in their games and hardware, respectively.

Like previous PUBG games, New State is focused on multiplayer games. Up to 100 players enter the map, and one player or team emerges victorious. There will be four maps available for launch in New State, including the franchise staple Erangel, with PUBG Studios promising to update it regularly with new content over time.

Apart from the mobile phone, Krafton plans to release another PUBG-related game for PC and console next year, Bloomberg reported in January. There are also plans for a new horror game set in the PUBG universe over the next three hundred years, which will be released in 2022.
