Samsung has finally started removing ads from One UI stock apps. Earlier this year, the company promised to remove ads from proprietary apps, such as Samsung Weather, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Theme. At the time, however, it did not share the exact same timeline. Samsung finally started removing ads from One UI stock apps, starting with Samsung Health and Samsung Pay.

In a statement from Samsung Community Forum, the moderator indicated that the Samsung Health app would not be showing ads starting today. They wrote:

“This is Samsung Health Operation Manager. Please note that the flagship Samsung Health app will not be offered until October 1. ”

separate post from a community member submits that the company has also removed the ad from Samsung Pay. Includes the following screenshot.

It’s good that Samsung is finally getting rid of ads from One UI stock apps. While the company has no idea when to remove ads from some of its apps, we expect to see similar updates for Samsung Weather, Samsung Theme, and more in the coming weeks. However, it is not yet clear whether Samsung will also remove ads that are sent by push notifications to its devices in the same way.

It is noteworthy that Samsung currently only removed ads from Samsung Health and Samsung Pay in the South Korean One UI firmware release. It may be some time before these changes become live in some regions.
