Google adds new search filters feature to find specific emails on Gmail
In February last year, Google releases a new “Search Chips” feature to Gmail for G Suite users (now called Workspace). The feature has given users easy access to Gmail’s search filters by providing clickable suggestions under the search bar.
Later, a few months after adding this feature, Google released Gmail to consumers. This company is now introducing a similar feature to Gmail for Android for Workspace users.
Unlike Search Chips, which appear when you type a keyword, new search filters show up under the search bar as soon as you tap on it. You can use them independently or in the background to filter emails and find exactly what you are looking for.

This feature allows you to limit emails by sender, recipient, date, attachment, etc. Selecting from the drop-down list. However, it does not provide all the advanced browsing power you get with Search Chips in desktop Gmail.
Using this new feature, you’ll be able to search for emails based on a combination of several filters or set up clubs with a search query to minimize results further. You can also select more options in the “From” filter to see emails from various senders.
The new search filters in Gmail for Android have begun to be rolled out by Workspace users. But this feature is released in a systematic way, and it should reach your phone before the end of October if it hasn’t already happened.
Google says there is no end-user setting for this feature, so it should appear automatically when accessing your device. The feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as customers of G Suite Basic and Business. At this time, Google has not disclosed any plans to release it to Gmail for consumers.

WhatsApp to introduce reaction notification feature for status updates
WhatsApp for Android is rolling out a new beta update, which enhances user interaction with status updates by developing a new reaction notification feature. Users can identify the new beta update through version 2.24.9.29 on Android devices.
Previously, WhatsApp had been working on a quick reaction feature. The latest beta version goes a step further by providing an option to turn off notifications for ‘Like reactions.’ This means users can choose not to be notified every time someone reacts to their status, which could be particularly useful for those who receive many reactions.
This feature is beneficial as it allows users to reduce disruptions by preventing their notification panel from being cluttered with WhatsApp reaction notifications. But for those who prefer to view reactions at their convenience, this update will allow them to do so without the constant alerts.
Moreover, WhatsApp aims to enhance users’ control over their notifications and let them decide how they want to engage with status updates. This update is still under development, so stay tuned more details will be shared as they become available.
