Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series September 2021 security update rollout has begun in the US for carrier unlocked and T-Mobile/Sprint branded units. However, the Exynos-based Galaxy Note 20 lineup had already received the latest security patch in Europe and Asia.

A few days ago, the company disclosed the details of the September 2021 security patch, which mentions fixes for 46 CVEs from Google and 23 SVEs from Samsung for the Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, and other eligible Galaxy devices.

Notably, the latest Galaxy Note 20 software update carries a package size of nearly 255MB and the changelog shows nothing more than the system security improvements. As mentioned in the post title, the September patch is releasing for carrier unlocked, T-Mobile and Sprint consumers in the US.

Software versions:

  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – N986U1UES2DUH3 | N986USQS2DUH4
  • Galaxy Note 20 – N981U1UES2DUH3 | N981USQS2DUH4

Recently, the Korean tech giant had released the September 2021 update for several flagships and select mid-range Galaxy smartphones, which included some of the One UI 3.1.1 features as well. However the latest update comes in a regular size, it won’t bring such features to your phone.

If you’ve not yet received the notification to download the September 2021 security update, then you can also check for it manually by navigating to device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
