Samsung explains how 5G works with AI tools for optimized performance

Published

on

Today, the world is more connected than ever before, but there is still a need to make our experience with our devices more efficient and consistent. This has led to new expectations for mobile operators. Now, operator cutting-edge networks must provide continuous access to millions of devices while supporting large data flows without fail.

As operators look to make their 5G networks not only bigger but more reliable, we at Samsung believe that using artificial intelligence (AI) can be a key factor in making this an important feature of telecommunications infrastructure.

With 5G networks, an AI learning tool for performance management and performance enhancement offers clear benefits for operator staff. Samsung has developed an AI tool called CognitiV Analytics, which can work with human partners to help mobile operators solve various issues related to managing 5G networks.

Samsung 5G AI Tool

Quality and Collaboration Are Key

The CognitiV Analytics represents a major step forward for 5G network management. The solution to quickly identifying technical issues and accurately analyzing network quality comes from two key factors.

Firstly, its ability to analyze the performance and quality of services across all networks, and second, its interactive collaboration with its human counterparts.

The Importance of Strengthening AI Tools

The CognitiV Analytics not only shows what our AI technology can do but also shows how AI can be used to solve important issues and proves how easy it can be integrated into commercial networks.

Harnessing AI for Future Networks

For today’s mobile providers, proper network management is a complex and important part of keeping the world connected. And it is a feature of their work that does not replace the error.

CognitiV Analytics is a shred of evidence to Samsung’s continued commitment to AI, which will bring incredible opportunities to enrich our daily lives. Combining AI capabilities with human capabilities can provide mobile operators with the solutions they need to simplify tasks and better manage network resources.

Samsung Auto Blocker update

Samsung is expanding One UI 6.1.1 to several Galaxy devices. The new software update brings various new features and functional improvements. One UI 6.1.1 also upgrades the Auto Blocker feature for extra-strong security.

One UI 6 debuted the Auto Blocker feature to unlock enhanced security on Galaxies. Samsung has located the feature within Security and Privacy under Settings. The new One UI 6.1.1 takes Auto Blocker capabilities another step ahead.

Auto Blocker protects your device and data by preventing the installation of apps from unauthorized sources and blocking malicious activity. Simply put, the feature, when activated, doesn’t allow app sideloading on Galaxy devices.

Starting with One UI 6.1.1, additional security features including Maximum restrictions, have been added. You can now set Auto Blocker to apply maximum restrictions to get the highest level of protection against malware and security threats.

Hyperlinks and automatic downloading attachments in messages are blocked, location data is removed when sharing pictures, and shared albums in Gallery can’t be used. Learn how to activate Maximum restrictions in Auto Blocker.

Step 1. Turn on the Auto Blocker feature > Tap Maximum restrictions.

Step 2. Turn on the switch to enable.

While enabling Maximum restrictions, some of your phone’s features will be restricted.

Turns on App protection: Checks apps installed for malicious activity.

Blocks device admin apps: Prevents activation of device admin apps and work profiles to protect against potential malicious attacks.

Blocks auto downloading attachments: Prevents automatic downloads of message attachments to protect against malicious software, while still allowing manual downloads from trusted sources.

Blocks hyperlinks and previews: Protects you from accidentally clicking on hyperlinks or viewing preview images, keeping you safe from malicious websites.

Removes location data when sharing pictures: Prevents the recipient from being able to determine where the picture was taken when you attach a picture to a message in Samsung Messages or share a picture from Samsung Gallery.

Blocks shared albums: Protects you from sharing sensitive information and accepting invites from unknown senders.

Samsung races to increase 3nm AI chip yields for Nvidia

Geopolitical tensions in Taiwan may lead Nvidia to switch AI chip production from TSMC to Samsung. The company is currently facing yield issues with its cutting-edge 3nm semiconductor fabrication node GAA.

Nvidia CEO recently stated that “agility and their capability to respond to our needs is just incredible,” but “if necessary, of course, we can always bring up others.” Hence, Samsung has an urgent need to enhance its 3nm yield for AI processors.

The top executive mentioned that Nvidia could switch suppliers if necessary, due to concerns like rising geopolitical tensions in Taiwan. However, switching semiconductor production from TSMC might “result in lower-quality products.”

The South Korean tech giant is scrambling to improve its manufacturing yield, which refers to the ratio of good and error-free units to the total number of units produced. But the number is not improving as fast as Samsung hopes.

Samsung failed to secure Nvidia orders for advanced AI processors such as H Series or Blackwell. Last year, the company secured Nvidia’s orders for 8-nanometer-based chips like the Tegra for automobiles and the RTX-3000 GPU in 2020.

The company’s 3nm yield rate remained single digit until the first quarter of the year. This impacted the mass production of the Exynos 2500 chipset, which was rumored to be utilized in the Galaxy S25 series next year.
