Samsung Galaxy S10 gets September 2021 security update

Over the last few days, Samsung distributed its September 2021 security update to several Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy S20, S20 FE, Note 20, and S21 series. Now, the company has started expanding the latest security update to the Galaxy S10 series devices.

According to the info, the Galaxy S10 lineup is now receiving the September 2021 security patch with a new software update in Switzerland. The update can be identified via PDA release numbers: G970FXXSCFUH5, G973FXXSCFUH5 and G975FXXSCFUH5 for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+.

Notably, the Korean tech giant has not yet released the September 2021 security update bulletin that comes with details about the CVEs and SVEs that will be fixed after installing on the Galaxy S10 models. However, the company is expected to publish it very soon.

How to check for updates manually

  • Open device Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on Software updates
  • Hit the Download and install button.

Launched back in 2019, the Galaxy S10 series came pre-installed with Android 9-based One UI 1.1. Later on, Samsung offered the Android 10-based One UI 2.x last year, followed by Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update earlier this year.

To be mentioned, the Galaxy S10 lineup including the Galaxy S10 Lite is eligible to get the new Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update. Besides, the major update arrival timeline is unknown at the moment but we can expect it in the first quarter of next year.
