Meanwhile, as per the latest report, the Korean tech giant is going to launch more new mid-range phones equipped with OIS camera features. Previously, the OIS function was limited to Samsung flagship devices, while it’s getting expanded to more and more phones rapidly.

Korean media outlet TheElec report revealed that the OIS function is expected to expand to all models of the Galaxy A series next year after being installed on some Galaxy A series models in order to strengthen the competitiveness of mid-range smartphones.

In addition, the report also pointed out that all the upcoming 2022 Galaxy A series smartphones will support OIS (optical image stabilization). Reports suggest that in the price of a single camera module of about $10, the image sensor and lens account for 70%, and the OIS and actuator account for 20%.

OIS is generally combined with an actuator and installed on the camera module. The price of an OIS-based lens is 15% more expensive than AF (Auto Focus). Therefore, the average selling price of camera modules is expected to rise by about 3%.
