Samsung launched monstrous 200MP ISOCELL HP1 image sensor for future phones!
On September 2nd, Samsung launched the world’s first 200MP mobile image sensor – ISOCELL HP1, which could debut with Galaxy S22 Ultra and / or Xiaomi’s Mi 12 Ultra. According to the company, this monstrous 200MP camera sensor features the most advanced 0.64μm-sized pixels for such ultrahigh resolution.
Impressively, Samsung ISOCELL HP1 is the world’s first mobile image sensor that supports 200MP. It’s built on the company’s most advanced 0.64μm-sized pixels in order to bring ultrahigh resolution in a small package that fits comfortably in today’s handheld devices.
Samsung ISOCELL HP1 200MP Features
The ISOCELL HP1 features an all-new ChameleonCell technology, a pixel-binning technology that uses a two-by-two, four-by-four, or full pixel layout depending on the environment to offer ultimate low-light photography.
Moreover, this 200MP sensor modifies into a 12.5MP image sensor with large 2.56μm pixels by merging 16 neighboring pixels in low-lit environments. In addition, the newly developed 2.56μm pixel makes brighter and clearer photos indoors or in the evening possible.

On the other hand, the ISOCELL HP1’s 200-million pixels can capture ultra-high-definition photography on mobile devices in bright outdoor environments. To be mentioned, it can also take 8K videos at 30 frames-per-second (fps) with minimum loss in the field of view.
Apart from these futuristic facilities, the HP1 merges four neighboring pixels to bring the resolution down to 50MP or 8,192 x 6,144 to take 8K (7,680 x 4,320) videos without the need to crop or scale down the full image resolution.
Here’s what Samsung official said
“With the ISOCELL HP1 that is breaking barriers and ISOCELL GN5 bringing ultrafast autofocus, Samsung will continue to lead the trend for next-generation mobile imaging technologies.”

Google Photos preps to expand Pixel 9’s magical AI features
Pixel 9’s AI Magic Editor features could be coming to older models through Google Photos. The company seemingly working to optimize two new Magic Editor features called Auto Frame and Reimagine for older Pixel phones.
AndroidAuthority reports that Pixel 9’s AI-powered Auto Frame and Reimagine features could come to Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series with Google Photos update. This surprising info was discovered right under the codes and strings of Google Photos APK.
Code and strings related to the Pixel 9’s Reimagine and Auto Frame appearing in the Google Photos app for Pixel 6 to Pixel 8. It’s a clear indication that the US tech giant plans to roll out Pixel 9 features across Tensor-powered models.
Google’s new Pixel 9 introduces cool camera features such as Add Me, Video Boost with Night Sight, and more. The company has a habit of expanding newly added features with select older models that fulfill hardware requirements.
The new Magic Editor’s Auto Frame automatically frames your chosen subject, even if that requires expanding the image using AI. Whereas Reimagine lets you change backgrounds with the power of generative artificial intelligence.
Google Photos could add these new features in a future Feature Drop. The company may also expand the new additions to all Android phones through a Google One subscription, the same way Pixel 8’s Magic Editor rolled out earlier.
